Description
The snow glimmered in all of the lights as it fell softly around Adrielle and Harper. The two walked quietly, just enjoying each other's company while admiring the beautiful sights. The snow seemed to drown out all sound around them, save for the crunching of the snow beneath their feet. Harper couldn't help but to keep gazing over at the blonde elf girl next to him, she just looked so cute and pretty, especially with the amazing natural white backdrop behind her. In between sneaking glances he noticed she has begun to hug herself a bit. She was wearing pretty light clothes considering the colder temperatures and all of the snow. Harper cleared his throat a bit before speaking up.
"It didn't really hit me until now that you might be cold considering...you know..." His eyes looked her up and down.
"O-oh! Yeeeeeeah, I didn't really think my outfit through too much, huh? I was like. so worried about looking cute for you."
"F-for...me?" Harper immediately felt his face burning up. It was surely enough to melt the snow falling around him. Adrielle's eyes shot open.
"I-I mean, like, for our date! Wait! Date!? I umm..." Adrielle suddenly got flustered herself, covering her face a bit with her hands.
She sees this as a date!? Like an actual date!? There's no way... Harper's thoughts began to run wild.
"...Well would you like to use my jacket for a bit to warm up?" He finally spoke up again.
"No way, I couldn't! It's my fault for like, being dumb about my outfit..."
"For what it's worth I um...think you look really nice Adrielle..." Did I really just say that out loud!?
"Aw, thank you! That makes it all worth it then. Mission accomplished!" She let out a giggle. Harper chuckled lightly, but still didn't want to sit by and let her stay so cold. He gulped, swallowing his anxiety and slowly started taking his scarf off.
"A-Adrielle...um...take this." He timidly held out the scarf towards her with a shaky hand.
"Oh my gosh! Are you totally sure? I don't want you to like, catch a cold or something..."
"I'm positive, please take it. I-I um...actually feel a bit warm at the moment anyway..." His eyes looked away as he handed her the scarf. He couldn't bring himself to look her in the eyes after a bold move like that. Adrielle felt the scarf between her fingers a moment before slowly wrapping it around her neck. "I-I know it's not much, but...I hope it helps."
"I-it's warm, thank you." Adrielle's face started burning hotter than before. Oh my gosh! It smells like him! She wasn't sure why that excited her so much, but she loved feeling like Harper's arms were wrapped around her, keeping her warm.
Wow, she's so cute! Harper couldn't believe that Adrielle of all people was wearing HIS scarf.
"You're like, totally sweet..." Adrielle spoke softly into the scarf. Her eyes averted to the ground. "O-oh, and Harper...?"
"W-what's up?"
"I um...think you look really cute today too..."
"Y-you do...?"
"Mhmm." Adrielle nodded, looking over to Harper with a smile. She knew she was blushing like crazy, but she had hoped that the scarf and the fact that it was cold would help hide that. Her eyes met Harper's causing him to quickly shift his gaze back downward.
"Heh heh...thanks." He nervously chuckled. He wasn't sure how to handle a compliment like that, especially being called cute by his crush.
"You know...my hands are, like, super cold too..." She stopped underneath of a dimly lit street light, shuffling a bit in place.
"R-really? I um...didn't bring gloves with me, sorry."
"N-no, I was thinking maybe...I don't know, like, your hands might be cold too..."
"I guess they are a little-" Harper stopped, realizing what she might mean. His heart began to pound super hard like it was trying to burst out of his chest. There's no way she'd actually want to hold hands, right!? Right!?
"...Maybe we could help warm each other's?" She looked to the ground, unable to look Harper in the face. She slowly reached her hands out. Harper looked down to her hands, gulping again. He slowly reached out with shaky hands, grabbing ahold of hers. His eyes widened, feeling how soft and delicate her hands felt in his. Was this a dream? If it was, he had hoped that he would never wake up from it. Adrielle's eyes finally made their way up to Harper's tomato red face. She smiled widely. "This feels much better, doesn't it?"
"U-uh huh..." Harper knew she could tell how nervous and flustered he was, but in this moment, when time seemed to freeze along with the snow and the world around them, it didn't matter.
Totally beautiful & wholesome Christmas-winter themed artwork AND literature piece indeed.👍🎄❄️💖 Not to mention we are now observing that Adrielle herself is beginning to actually fall in love with timid-boy Harper.🥰❤️
