A FRIEND INDEED - A Story of Two Crocodiles

Even days after those words had been spoken, they would not stop ringing inside Tobias’ head. He knew that Barak, his closest companion, had the best of intentions when he said them. He knew that expressing gratitude with such kind, genuine sentiment was a rarity for the other reptile. And he knew that, after everything they had done for each other, all of the experiences they had shared together, good and bad, he should be glad that Barak felt that way about him. None of it mattered. The undeniable truth was that the proclamation of friendship made Tobias feel consumed by guilt.
