Nikon-D5100

Hey All. I am new to Nikon and DSLRs. The main reason we bought this camera was to take pictures during our daughter's volleyball matches. I'm still having trouble trying to figure out the best settings to use with what I have to work with. Along with my D5100, the lens I use is a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G. We are cost conscious so buying a more expensive (bigger) lens is not really an option right now. 

Most of the matches occur in large convention centers and the lighting varies by location. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
