Life is pretty good. I was let go from work 6 years ago, and went back to school to be a Social Service Worker. I worked with the poor, and homeless for 3 years, and mostly enjoyed it, but it was dangerous at times. 
Now I am living off my savings and not working ... my choice ... and I bought a swimming pool this year. Life is pretty good.
