The commission journal is still valid, but honestly, I just need a little help getting to and from physical therapy, folks. If you would like to donate a buck or two through kofi or paypal to get this twisted old mantis humming again, please do so here... https://ko-fi.com/mustlovefrogs https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/mustlovefrogs And appreciation to a friend of mine who told me to quit being so proud and stubborn.

Hi friends! I'm sorry I haven't been very talkative recently, but on Thanksgiving I had a heart attack scare that turned out to be a very badly pinched nerve in my left shoulder/arm/hand. We're all glad my heart is healthy (and that I'm right handed), but for weeks now I've been experiencing distracting pain. I'm scheduled to start PT this week and need a few bucks in my account to Uber there. I'm taking a couple of commissions to get me where I need to go. As an incentive, commissions pertaining to this journal will be done before Dec 25, so if you want a frogmantis for Christmas, hop at this chance! Please PM me if interested. Quick price guide: COLOR: $80, $70 per additional character INK: $50, $40 per additional character SKETCH: $30, $20 per additional character Possible upcharge for backgrounds or high complexity

To quote a wise frog named Kermit, "It's alright, children. Life is made up of meetings and partings." When I first met Luca he was 13 years old. Last night, at 16, we said goodbye to him. I knew entering into our relationship that it would be a finite one, but I also knew that I was going to give him the most banger retirement that I possibly could. Luca, in his ornery, smug, rascally glory, was loved every day of his life with me. But now his face was full of cancer that made it hard for him to eat and breathe. We wanted to let him go while he was still himself. He faded away in the arms of his mom who cherished him. Who could ask for a more comforting end? I'm in pain but I'm OK. It hurts to say goodbye to a dear friend. True love is painful but is there a truer love than that between a human and a pet? Would I adopt another senior pet in the future? Absolutely. A short, awesome friendship is just as, if not more, rewarding than a long relationship. Love you

Do you happen to like They Might Be Giants? The band? I know you like Ben Folds and The Beatles, so I was wondering if we had another band/musician in common.

I sure do. A lot of TMBG's catalogue is surprisingly poignant. Of course it's funny, but it's also deep and heartfelt.

Probably the biggest bands/singers of my young adulthood were TMBG, Ben Folds, Fiona Apple, Barenaked Ladies, and hipster swing bands like Squirrel Nut Zippers and Brian Setzer's Orchestra. Beatles and Billy Joel are perennial.
