They tried to keep him
From shattering the world
Yet no chains would hold him,
But his own.So they taught him to fear.
For fear could not be shattered.
They put him high in a windowless tower.
And so he learned to fear the darkness. In the short time he spent in the light
He was set upon by dragonets his age.
They first tried to bite him
But soon learned to taunt him.
And so he learned to fear dragons. But what he feared the most were the spears.
There were two of them
Two, that could not be shattered.
Two, the last of Five,
Enchanted by an ancient Queen
To heal wounds of frost. He feared them,
Loathed them.
He feared not the guards that wiel...
A lonely egg,
Wrapped in snow,
Hatched a dragon
Of the cold.The soldiers came,
To take him away
For a prophecy foretold
His coming.They touched his scales
And cried out in terror
As their claws shattered
In his biting cold. They begged the Queen to kill him
Out of mercy and out of fear.
But the Queen was greedy,
And wanted his power. So they called him Shatter.
Shatter, for the prophecy that foretold
His coming.
Shatter, for the lives he took
Without knowing.Shatter, of Ice Scales.
