Poem of the Hero of Time - Pt7
There at last
he saw a friend,
On whom, in childhood,
he could depend.
A sage was she
who touched his heart,
Of greater destiny
she was a part...
Warm but chilled
that moment then,
No sureness ever
to meet again...
Medallion given,
then goodbye,
Both looked sad,
but did not cry.Onwards quick
to mountain high,
Where fiery ring
blocks out the sky.
Goron's bane,
Volvagia, rose,
So to the den
with flaming clothes...
The Gorons freed
from prisons there,
Pillar, and jump,
to inner lair.
Stones, and serpent
with fire breath,
An ancient hammer
to seal its death.

Again in place
where sages meet,
Link's brother of stone
took up his seat.
Medallion passed,
it shone in red,
A knowing look,
needs nothing said.
So to the place
where rivers end,
A thirsty lake
for Link to mend.
(Quick aside,
retrieve a tool,
To pull deep down
to bed of pool.)Blue and clear,
glistening hall,
Water that doth
both rise and fall,
Royal song
commands the flow,
Now face yourself,
no fear on show!
Aquatic beast
waits in the deep,
From poisoned pool,
disturb its sleep.
With hook rip out
its beating core,
End with blade,
fill lake once more.

Phantom banished
across the veil,
One final medallion
left in this tale...
A bridgeless gap,
a horse's leap,
To dusty land
where spirits sleep.
Captured first,
escape the cage,
Calm Gerudos'
seething rage.
Wasteland winds
disguise the way,
Helped by ghost
of ancient day.Desert witches
bind a girl,
Into the ground,
with sands that swirl.
Child and adult,
tread temple halls,
And bounce the light
between the walls.
The girl they bound,
as guardian made,
With fire and ice
the witches played.
Though did they
unite as one,
By shining sword
they both are gone.

Six medallions
now in hand,
Power gained
to save the land.
Temple where
time is sealed,
Helpful friend,
disguise revealed...
Princess hid,
in easy sight,
Now passed to Link,
arrows of light.
But Ganon saw
the Princess there,
And took her deep
into his lair.All six sages
pooled their power,
A rainbow bridge
to dark black tower.
Threats and traps,
lay there within,
Just beyond,
great battle begin.
Haunting sound
of organ notes,
From up above
the music floats...
In a grey,
and stained glass room,
Two will fight
for Hyrule's doom.

Olden temple
with haunting sound,
And shadows that crawl
across the ground...
Skulls drift through
abandoned halls,
And hiding wolves
give hunting calls.
Mysterious tunnels
that twist and turn,
Reality becoming
hard to discern...
Puzzles that lead
deeper inside,
And portraits where
ghost sisters hide.Four Poes gone
now fires alight,
Reveal a path
kept out of sight.
In lower rooms
a phantom waits,
Beyond the locked
and final gates.
With bow and sword
the evil felled,
Darkness there
at last dispelled.
A light descends
takes Link afar,
To the place
where sages are.

A sleepy village
with windmill blades,
That catch the light
as the weak sun fades...
Up Death Mountain
ever higher,
Seeking out
the stone of Fire.
In Goron City
Link rose to fame,
By killing Dodongo
they could eat again.
His efforts saw him
become Goron kin,
And earned a stone
of fire within.Along a river
he found a route,
A fall that parts
with sacred flute.
There he entered
a domain beyond,
A rushing shower
filling sparkling pond.
Somehow, it seemed,
getting his wish,
Involved being eaten,
by Jabu the fish...
A sapphire was given
for setting her free,
Engaging him to Ruto,
as they bobbed in the sea...

The dark lord cried,
and cast a curse,
But it seemed,
his fate was worse.
Banished ever,
from Hyrule's ground,
Desired power,
he never found.All peoples then
joined their hands,
As peace descended,
across their lands.A mountain seat,
the Sages sought,
Hyrule ever,
kept in their thought.A fairy who,
had helped his fight,
Flew now up,
into the light......power......wisdom......courage...Princess with
a sacred shine,
Kokiri boy;
Hero of Time!
As they stood
upon the sky,
With tearful eyes,
they said goodbye.
So a child
with adult scars,
Passed beneath
the shining stars...
He looked at she,
the Princess there,
Two young hearts,
without a care.

Now to the castle
Link made his way,
Yet at the gates
a force made him stay...
As the rain lashed down
he stood outside,
And watched as Impa
took Zelda to hide.
He had no time
to find out where,
For then came the man
from an old nightmare.
Knocking down Link
with considerable force,
He galloped away
on his jet black horse.Link swam to collect
what Zelda had thrown.
And held now Ocarina
and each Sacred Stone.
Then in ancient Temple
he set them in line,
And so was unlocked
the Door of Time.
Now he could reach
the Sacred land,
And keep the Triforce
from an evil hand.
Alas! A trick
had Ganondorf played,
When Link took the sword
his body was st...

A seven year sleep
was finally broke,
In Sacred land
a hero awoke.
Streaming light
in great blue falls,
And dancing colours
across the walls.
Rauru's voice
then rose aloud,
"Hyrule lies
beneath a cloud!
The land is dark,
it needs new light,
It cannot be won
without a fight."Now with body
strong and grown,
Link felt pull
towards his home.
Pain was struck
quick through his heart,
On seeing the reach
of evil's art.
Carefree forest
now was cold,
Of friends alone
he was old.
On guardian's grave
he could not look...
Through the woods,
the path he took.
