Description
Next drawing in my series about the books I've just read, a scene from "Politika", the 1st of the Power Games book series by Tom Clancy and Martin Greenberg. It's a pretty quick reading, well-paced and intriguing... if you like spy stories, political schemes and aren't afraid by bloody-gore killings, you should read it! (and read it only if you don't mind mature content... there is some sexual content here too)...
As someone who grew up during the end of the Cold War, I was logically attracted to drawing a scene with two important Russian politicians meeting serectly in Moscow in the dead of the night so there you are, a side of St-Basil's Cathedral, with Vladimir and Arkadi meeting (Arkadi is plotting and needs support)... I really had fun with the colors and architecture here
Here is the scene in the book... sorry for the rough translation, it's Hubby's book, and he reads in French, so this has been translated from English to French, then again to English by me, because I couldn't find the original text anywhere online...
"They met around midnight, on the cathedral square. Just the two of them, as planned, even if each of them had come with a bunch of bodyguards, discreetly hidden nearby in the shadows. Whatever degree of trust between them might exist, it was clearly based on strength.
"Arkadi", said Starinov, greeting him with a nod.
His hands in his trench-coat pockets, Pedatchenko gave him a falsely friendly smile.
"I'm delighted you've agreed to meet here tonight, Vladimir."
Starinov didn't answer. The cold was biting at his body, and he was covered in a thick sheepskin coat, with a muffler and a fur hat. Pedatchenko, however, had his thick mane of hair in the wind, and the top buttons of his jacket were open, like a challenge to the weather.
The guy was clearly warmed up by his own arrogance."

I really like how the color pops out the dark background
