My name is Denise Maritato and I was born and raised in New York. I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil with the support and encouragement of my grandmother, a fellow artist. In 2005, I graduated with honors from The Pratt Institute with a degree in Communications / Graphic Design.
After college, I completed a two year internship at a fashion company in Manhattan NY where I designed clothing tags, labels and packaging for hand bags and accessories. I then went on to design balloons for Anagram International and finally found a home working for Amscan Inc. designing halloween costume packaging for the retail chain Party City.
In 2006, I met my wonderful husband Mark and we just celebrated 8 years together! Mark is a historical fine artist and you can check out his work at www.maritato.com. About a year and a half ago, I fell in love again...this time with DeviantArt! This amazing and diverse community has been my muse, my second family and a home away from home. I have been blessed to be a part of some amazing and influential groups and projects and the many friendships I have made here are absolutely priceless to me! Thank you all for the love, praise and support and I look forward to working with you in the future!

Denise is a hardworking deviant who goes out of her way to showcase individuals for their kindness as well as for their creative endeavors. In her time on DeviantArt, she has helped out with a number of Groups that range from artistic creation to promoting positivity and well-being, and in the midst of this she also makes time regularly to work on her own creations, maintaining an impressive balance of creative energy, self-growth, and passion for the community. We're honored to present the Deviousness Award for March of 2015 to DMD-CT.

DMD-CT's talents as both an artist and a community member are immense and instantly recognizable from a distance. Her kindness and loving attitude is apparent in everything that she does and creates. Ohh my goodness! Denise is one of those friends that always have a lot of joy to spread around! There’s no place where she goes that isn’t left with a warm feeling in people’s hearts.
