Hey everybody! I'm thinking about branching out and perhaps investing in some digital art gear, but I have no idea what ones are the best or what sort of platform I'd need to draw with. Anyone got any suggestions? I'd be really grateful!

My OC's

34 min read
Heya everybody! (This is my first time using the Journal part of DevianArt so forgive me if I ramble for a bit, but I'm British and we're good at rambling :D) Anywhoooooo, just thought I'd list off the (anime-related) OC's I've created (some of which you've seen in my artwork and some who are still in the wings, waiting to be drawn/written about)

Each OC profile will be styled in the same way as a profile of a canon character (from the same anime), that make sense?? Seriously these are going to be long-as and in some serious depth!!

I do actually have a Yuri!!! On Ice fanfic on the go at the moment on Fanfiction.Net (my pen name being Crazy-Freaky-Anonymous-Author) and on Wattpad (under CrazeeDayz) so please if you like my YOI OC of Osha then give that a looksee.

So, going onto my OC descriptions, might as well start with... *drumroll*

"Yuri!!! On Ice"
On Going Fanfic - "The Charms of a Nikiforov"

Name -
Osha Augustine Nikiforov
Nicknames - Oshi, Oshka (by Yakov), Ochan (by Hiroko), Toots (by JJ)
Country -
Russia
Gender -
Female
Birthday -
November 19th (Scorpio)
Age -
20 (Beginning), 21 (Current)
Height -
155cm (5'1)
Family -
Pytor Nikiforov (Father), Sofi Nikiforov (Mother), Victor Nikiforov (Brother), Yuri Katsuki (Future Brother-In-Law), Phichit Chulanont (Friend-Boyfriend-Fiance)
Coach -
Andres Castello (Former), Yakov Feltsman (Current)

Osha Nikiforov (alt spelling Russian: Оша Никифоров, Japanese: オシャ・ニキフォロフ, Osha Nikiforofu) is a figure skater, coach, student and choreographer. She is one of the main characters in the YOI fanfic "The Charms of a Nikiforov", but a non-canon character of the Yuri!!! On Ice anime.

Background
Osha Nikiforov, known as the Flower of Russia, is a renown female figure skater - ranked no. 1 in her Junior days. By age 14, she was already choreographing her own programmes and was viewed with high esteem in the Junior skating world. However, following a tragic accident, in her debut as a senior doubles skater, and prior to her senior debut as a singles, she believed to have injured her leg to the point where she could never skate again.

Appearance
Osha is a very short young woman with chin-length grey hair with bangs that cover her right eye. Osha wears large, square, turquoise glasses, but while skating she removes them. She also plaits her fringe to one-side when performing. She has light blue-green eyes, and is often called the female version of her brother. During warm ups for competition, Osha wears a Russian-flag-designed runner jacket over her costume. However, for practice, her outfits consist of a variety of coloured leggings and cropped long-sleeved tops, fingerless gloves and grey skates.

Like her brother, Osha enjoys wearing trench coats, but does not hold them with the same regard as her brother. She is described as being a feminine tomboy - preferring to wear skinny jeans and heavy boots as opposed to dresses and skirts, which she will only wear for special occasions.

In her days as a Junior, Osha has waist-length hair, which she usually wore in a braided crown for competitions. Following her accident, and an incident with Jean-Jaques Leroy (JJ) and some chewing gum, Osha had it cut.

After she becomes the girlfriend of Phichit Chulanont, she can often be seen wearing his baseball caps and iconic red jacket.

Personality
Osha has a bright personality and is very charming to most people. She is a perfectionist, which is evident in both her skating and her coaching - having a natural eye for fine detail. While carefree, like her brother, Osha is more grounded, but does get overly sensitive about her short stature, despite it being a perk for a figure skater.

Because of her accident, Osha still feels very vulnerable, knowing that her injury still gives her pain. Despite this shaken confidence, she shows great empathy towards Yuri Katsuki, and JJ in their times of unease, but does need comforting when her own anxiety takes over. She went through a long stage of depression following her accident and her brother being kicked out, but went through a emotional therapy. She isn't highly competitive, despite her need for perfection.

Skills
Step Sequences
Due to her fine eye for detail, Osha has a natural ability with step sequences. According to Victor, it is where she conveys the most emotion and is the area where her presentation points excel.
Choreography
Having watched her brother, from an early age, Osha has developed an adept ability to choreograph her own programmes. Knowing the emotions she wishes to convey, and how to balance the technicalities with the performance, she helps Phichit tweak his programmes for the Grand Prix Final.

Relationships
Victor Nikiforov
Victor and Osha have always been close, with Osha deeming her older brother as "her idol". As children they both skated under Yakov Feltsman, before Osha moved onto doubles skating, however she remained under both Yakov and her new coach, Andres Castello, so was in between Russian and Canadian rinks. Despite what many proclaim, there is little sibling rivalry between them - with the exception of them both shamelessly flirting with Swiss skater, and long-time friend: Christophe Giacometti. Because of her accident, Victor is very protective of his younger sister, but still believes that she should return to the ice, as well as take up coaching. In the entirety of YOI, Osha is fully supportive of Victor's coaching, despite her teasing, and only wants her brother to be happy.

She adores Victor's poodle, Makkachin - on many occasions "baby-sitting" him, whilst her brother is away at competitions. Following his flight to Japan, Osha is then called upon to help him assist in the "Hot Springs on Ice" and proceeds to help him with Yuri's choreography. She admires the relationship between the two men, and the strength her brother has - they became even closer after Victor was kicked out of the Nikiforov home when he came out as gay, and both their relationships with their parents decreased because of it.

Yuri Katsuki
Osha has a brief encounter with Yuri at the end of the Sochi Grand Prix - asking if the Japanese skater is alright before he runs off. Following the "Hot Springs on Ice", the pair form a close friendship, Osha fully supporting Yuri and showing great empathy with his nerves. She approves of his adoration for her brother, and even supports the common hashtag "#victuri" because of it. Despite her inexperience with coaching, and her anxiety to skate again, she gladly helps Yuri with his short programme "On Love - Eros" the night before the "Hot Springs on Ice".

In the Rostelecom Cup, Victor asks Osha to assist in Yuri's coaching while he goes back to Japan. The two friends lean on each other for support, and it is there that Osha sees that Yuri truly loves her brother. In the Pre-Grand Prix Final special, it is shown that Osha was present at the banquet and had several videos and pictures of Yuri's drunkenness to show off. However, there are a few pictures showing that Osha was almost at the same level of drunk, as the Japanese skater, and reveals the pair attempting an Argentine Tango - much to Victor's annoyance. She is fully for Yuri and Victor's engagement - claiming "dibs" as Victor's "Best Woman", and there is even rumour that she has offered to surrogate for the pair following their marriage - should they want children.

Phichit Chulanont
After briefly meeting via FaceTime, there is an instant attraction between Osha and Phichit. When they eventually meet face-to-face, at the Cup of China, the pair quickly form a friendship - finding it easy to talk to one another because of their chipper personalities. It is following this competition, that Phichit, along with his coach Celestino Cialdini, asks Osha to be his temporary coach, should he qualify for the Grand Prix Final. Phichit then surprises Osha by appearing at the Rostelecom Cup, and offers comfort and support when she starts worrying about Yuri, Victor and Makkachin. It is because of this, and her attraction to him, that Osha agrees to coach Phichit, and goes back with him to Bangkok.

Prior to the GPF, the pair's relationship deepens, until Phichit eventually asks Osha out on a "not-date-date", where they kiss and admit their feelings to each other. Since then they've become boyfriend and girlfriend - although Phichit has promised himself he will propose to Osha one day. Despite not winning the GPF in Barcelona, Osha decided to stay on as a part-time coach to the Thai skater, as well as become his doubles partner - thus coming out of her nearly five year retirement. Phichit has since moved to St Petersburg into a flat with Osha, in order to train under Yakov, but does his singles programmes under Celestino.

Jean-Jacques "JJ" Leroy
JJ was Osha's Junior Doubles partner. After her accident, she encouraged him to pursue a career as a singles skater, and the pair have remained close friends from a very young age. Osha is very protective over JJ, especially because Victor blames him for her accident. As well as that, she is always the first person he goes to for relationship advice, and to have his girlfriends assessed, hence why the Russian girl has been asked to be a bridesmaid at his wedding.

Josephine Michaelis  (ジョセフィン・ミカエリス, Josefin Mikaerisu) is a female demon and wife to Sebastian Michaelis.

Appearance
Josephine takes on the appearance of a relatively tall, beautiful, young woman with black hair, pale skin and striking red eyes. She is normally dressed in colours that highlight her pale complexion - such as reds and blacks - and opts for dresses with tight bodices and corsets that encircle her shoulders, with an unfished lace-up front and an exaggerate polonaise or bustle. She wears gloves with Phantomhive cufflinks, as well as a wedding ring engraved with demon runes.

Her fingernails are noticeably black, and the back of her left hand contains the mark of her Faustian contract with Ran-Mao. On her hip is the Marriage Mark between her and Sebastian - which is a half-and-half combination of their demon marks.

(I HAVEN'T DECIDED DETAILS ON HER DEMON FORM YET EXCEPT THAT IT MAY CAT-ESQUE)

Personality
Being a married female demon, it is the duty of Josephine to cause chaos for her husband - however she and Sebastian both have similar dispositions. She is very courteous and charming, not to mention a constant flirt with the likes of Prince Soma, Agni and William T. Spears. Her only orders from Ran-Mao are to keep Lau alive, so their Faustian contract isn't as binding as it is for her husband. While being one for cleanliness, and giving off the impression of an upper-class lady, Josephine refuses to help in the day-to-day running of the Phantomhive estate: preferring to leave it all to Sebastian as she "enjoys watching a man work". She also enjoys teasing him, calling him faithfully "Dearest Husband", as well as Ciel Phantonhive "My Little Earl".

Unlike Sebastian, and very uncommon for demon-folk, Josephine is very optimistic. Despite this, she gets on very well with the young earl, who even gets Sebastian to perform orders she has asked of him - "just to see him squirm". She is faithful to Ran-Mao, and to Ciel, but when she hears of Sebastian's exploits with Beast, she is quick to become jealous and doesn't cease to return the spite by kissing every man who crosses her path.

(THIS IS ALL I HAVE THOUGHT OF FOR JOSEPHINE SO FAR, STILL NEED TO FINISH OFF HER HISTORY ETC.)

Ouran Host Club

Personality
Upon her arrival at Ouran Academy, Minori immediately views herself as an outcast because of her belief that you should always be unique. Like her cousin, Minori’s circumstances are more underprivileged, than her classmates at Ouran, and while she is a level-headed and responsible girl, the creative opportunities the school offers pique her interest, but neither she nor Haruhi are swayed by the charms of the hosts. When she first meets them, she reacts with awkward curiosity – disbelieving at Honey-senpai’s age and Tamaki’s innocent stupidity.

While Minori is a friendly character, she does show signs of shyness in new and awkward situations. As with Haruhi, not much scares her, but her natural introvert leaves her with an immense amount of stage-fright, which terrifies her to the point where she can bring on a panic attack. That aside, she tends to have a quiet, creative nature, occasionally dodging work to draw, write or play her keyboard. She doesn’t hold the “posh” lifestyle with much regard, but does show some awe when she first goes to Mori’s house. She blames her natural introvert for her inability to recognise her own feelings, as well as others as she is completely oblivious to Mori’s doting on her.

Upon being deemed an “honorary host for the benefit of platonic female relations”, Minori becomes unintentionally popular with the ladies because of her creative mindset and her ability to empathise with every client, gains her the title of the "Feminine" type.  She is remarkably curious of her fellow Host Club members, but she grows to care for them, though she’s reluctant to admit it, and will resort to violence to convince people otherwise.  The male hosts are very protective of their “British Beauty” and regard her with equal curiousity and respect. Tamaki especially admires her musical abilities, that rival his own on the piano.

Minori is born under the star sign of Cancer, the Crab. The positive traits of this sign are tender-hearted, family-oriented, creative and intuitive; the negative traits being anxiety, unforgiving, rarely direct and quick to resent.

Appearance
Minori is a girl of average height with over-the-shoulder, curly auburn hair and wide grey eyes. She also has a long side-fringe that sometimes covers her left eye. Like Haruhi, the female clients Minori receives, comment on the shininess of her eyes, but she has alerted them that it is because she wears contact lenses. Unlike her cousin, Minori has no natural affinity with people and, thus, believes that not many people like her. However, she is unknowingly charming and her polite, no-nonsense personality amuses her clients – hence why the Host Club hire her as their first “female” host. Minori is noted to take after both her parents – having her father’s quirky sense of humour and her mother’s “British” affinity for tea. Because of her gender-neutral name, and giving every hint that she despises dresses, Minori dons the Academy’s boy’s uniform, which initially has a negative response from her fellow girls.

Outside of the school she is often caught wearing skinny jeans, dungarees with hoodies or shirts, along with heavy, biker boots. As well as that, she opts to wear her large, thick-rimmed, square glasses, as opposed to her contacts. On the very rare occasion, usually under the persuasion of her parents (or for a date), Minori has been seen as wearing a “girly” outfit – usually a skirt – her hair down from its usual ponytail. Minori cuts her hair to a shoulder length after her cousin leaves for America, and keeps it this length throughout college.

Minori’s rose colour in the Host Club is yellow. In Japanese culture, this signifies family and friendship – this particular colour originates from the Middle East before being brought to Europe, which can be seen to signify Minori’s Eurasian heritage. In Western culture, the yellow rose is a symbol of warmth and joy – and don’t have such a serious romantic notion about them, much like Minori’s relationship with her female clients.

Family
Fujioka Family
The Fujioka Family includes: Minori, Haruhi, Ryoji, Noboru, Susan and Kotoko (deceased). When both girls were very young, Kotoko died of a sudden illness. Minori and her parents were living in England at the time, but stayed with Noboru's brother, Ryoji, and Haruhi to help them grieve. Kotoko still remains a very important figure in the lives of the Fujioka's, Minori promising her that she will look after her cousin, and Haruhi keeping her as a role model.

Noboru Fujioka
Noboru Fujioka is Minori's father, and Ryoji's older brother, who works as a travelling novellist. Although he's easily distracted by his over-active imagination, Noboru adores his daughter, often asking her to illustrate for his books. It was Noboru who encourage Minori to join the Host Club, in order to support Haruhi. When he first meets Mori, the normally "happy-go-lucky" man puts on a serious façade - not trusting the "Wild" type of boy. However, he quickly warms to Mori after seeing how he unconsciously dotes on Minori and is very accepting when Mori asks for Minori's hand in marriage - especially as he is willing to go all the way to England to propose to her.

Susan Fujioka
Susan is Minori's British mother, who also works as a travelling novelist. Susan is often described as a being very much like her daughter, as well as a true, level-headed Brit. She, along with her husband, act as Minori's role models, which is evident as Minori wishes to pursue a writing career.  Susan is the person who taught Minori how to play the piano, and encouraged her love of cats. Susan and Ryoji often discuss fashion and girly things at family get-togethers: both "mothers" wishing their daughters would be a bit more feminine.

Haruhi Fujioka
Haruhi is Minori's younger cousin, as well as being remarkably shorter than her - a joke which Minori occasionally teases her about. While Haruhi takes a more practical approach to life, Minori prefers a creative stance. However, the two girls are very close and support each other through thick and thin. Haruhi fully protested against Minori joining the Host Club, but secretly appreciated having her cousin there for company. It is Haruhi who first notices the romantic feelings between Minori and Mori, although it appears the pair are completely oblivious. Haruhi encourages Mori to embrace his feelings, pointing out that Minori is "not very good with people". When Haruhi, whilst studying in America, learns that Minori is going to England, thus leaving Mori behind, she claims that she is "too scare to commit fully" and says she is abandoning him. Minori retorts that Haruhi did the same to her, but their relationship suffers no long-term damage, especially after Haruhi hears from Mori, in the US, that he is planning to go and propose to Minori. Haruhi is also the Maid of Honour at her cousin's wedding.

Ryoji "Ranka" Fujioka
Ryoji is Minori's eccentric, cross-dressing uncle. She adores his openness at being a "tranny" and happily calls him by his stage name of "Ranka". However, his excitable personality often exhausts Minori's introvertness.

Kotoko Fujioka
Kotoko was Minori's aunt, who passed away when she was six years old. It is hinted that Minori truly admired her, and has promised her that she will always look after Haruhi.

Relationships
Takashi "Mori" Morinozuka
At first, Minori has no idea what Mori thinks of her. She finds his quiet personality fascinating and often enjoys sitting with him, reading quietly in a comfortable silence. It is her speed at becoming jealous, of his relationship and slight romantic incline for Haruhi, that has Minori questioning her feelings for Mori. Mori, initially, has the same protective instinct for Minori as he does for Haruhi, but after their first encounter with Renge - in which they have to pretend to be a couple - he softens in his intensity, wanting her to like him, and talk to him more. He openly states, when tired, that he finds the British lilt in her voice "adorable", and is the first to comfort her after she has a panic attack on stage at Lobelia Girl's Academy. After a school break, the pair eventually acknowledge their developed feelings for each other and enter a relationship. On the outside not much appears to have changed, but the Host Club can tell that Mori is more talkative and Minori more confident, when they are together. Upon Haruhi's departure to the US, Mori assumes that Minori will be joining the rest of the Host Club in following her, but is stunned to learn that she is heading to England instead. It is at this point that Mori first says "I love you" out loud, having normally replied with "Yeah" or "Me too". He decides to follow after Minori and ask her to marry him. They are the second of the Hosts to marry and have kids.

Tamaki Suoh
Minori and Tamaki's relationship starts off quite rocky, after she convinces Kyoya to make the "King" pay half of Haruhi's debt, because he initiated the accident. However, the boy warms to her after hearing her interest for music, suggesting that they might play together sometime. Their feelings towards each other are completely platonic, Minori not being able to find his "Family Fantasy" an attractive quality, alongside his general lack of common sense - while Tamaki views her as the sister he wished he had. While his enthusiastic personality is a tad exhausting, Minori enjoys occasionally teasing Tamaki about his feelings for her cousin, but nonetheless wishes for him to be happy. When it is revealed that he too is half Japanese, the pair deepen their friendship - better understanding what it's like to feel and look different. Minori is supportive of Tamaki's decision to go with Haruhi to the US, and is the first person they tell about having kids - asking her to be the godmother.

Kyoya Ootori
Initially Minori appears to Kyoya as a very confident young lady, but after seeing her reaction at him offering to dance with her at the ball, he sees that she is more timid than she likes to appear. However, he remains impressed at her fierce devotion to her cousin, and her complete obliviousness at her ability to empathise with their customers. Minori can't tell when Kyoya is putting up a façade and sometimes believes that he can barely tolerate her. The pair warm to each other after the trip to the mall, where she sees what a good person he is at heart, and where Kyoya learns from her that it is ok to be unique. Minori openly states that she doesn't understand why Kyoya goes along with being the "Mommy" in Tamaki's family universe. Because of how he treats her, with a softness he rarely shows, Kyoya understands that he is romantically attracted to Minori, but knows that she is completely oblivious to it and loves Mori.

Mitskuni "Honey" Haninozuka
Minori spends a lot of time in denial about Honey's age, due to his "boy-Lolita" appearance. It is when they go to the Ootori family's resort, that she sees the craftiness of Honey and learns to respect him as her senpai. Honey, in return, loves Minori's "cute" shyness, and is very protective of her - especially after he realises Mori's feelings for her. He addresses her as "Mino-chan" and often asks if she will "Usa-sit" Usa-chan with Mori, in order to make them spend time together. It is Honey who helps Minori realise her feelings for Mori, saying that "the only other person he cares so much about is me".

Hikaru Hitachiin
While Minori doesn't have the same impact on the twins as her cousin, she is still held in high regard by them as she is able to tell them apart through their writing styles rather than their physical appearances. Their relationship is completely platonic, and the twins like to try and engage Minori in their pranks under the name "The Red-Headed League". Minori feels sorry for Hikaru as she spots his romantic interest in her cousin, knowing that Haruhi doesn't feel the same about him. She admires the twins close relationship, but warns them that it will hinder them when they go out into the wider world and eventually separate from each other.

Kaoru Hitachiin
Kaoru is the first of the twins to warm to Minori, due to their shared love of literature. Together they discuss the rocky road that the Host Club is on because of Haruhi, and Kaoru points out that even Minori has altered the running of the group. Minori admits that she prefers Kaoru on his own as a friend, but still enjoys the "loudness" that Hikaru provides.

Renge Houshakkuji
While Minori is slightly intimidated by Renge's loud personality, she ultimately considers her a close friend. Renge admires Minori for wanting to pursue a writing career, and offers to cosplay as the main characters in all her future novels.

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Bardeaux (グウェンドリン・バルドー, Gū~endorin Barudō), often formally referred to as Squad Leader Bardeaux (チームリーダー・バルドー, Barudō Chīmurīdā Barudō), is the squadron leader of the Alpha Medical Squad (the fifth squad), which supports the Special Operations Squad, as well as the Head Medic in the Survey Corps.

Appearance
Gwen has wide-ish, dark green eyes and an unkempt fawn bob with an exaggerated fringe which occasionally covers her left eye. Despite being in her early thirties, she has a youthful face and is often mistaken for a young, freckled girl. She is one of the shortest members within the Survey Corps, but has a slim physique. She normally wears a serious expression around her peers, when performing surgeries and when out on an expedition, but always smiles around younger cadets. When not on expeditions, she occasionally wears thin-rimmed rectangular glasses for reading.

She is almost always in her Survey Corps uniform, with a brown button-up shirt underneath and her trademark pair of fingerless leather gloves. When on an expedition, she also wears the Survey Corps' green hooded cloak. As she is currently out-of-action, she can be seen wearing grey trousers, a white top and black blazer along with her military boots. During training she occasionally favours wearing her casual clothes with her ODM gear on top.

Personality
Because of her remarkably short stature, Gwen feels the need to express herself as a serious person - which makes her come across as unapproachable, and slightly terrifying, to new people. However, to those that know her well, Gwen is an extremely cheerful individual who always tries to make others smile, especially Levi Ackerman, but her open honesty has her coming across as very blunt. Despite her slightly privileged upbringing within Wall Sina, she does not view herself as better than anyone else and shows great empathy towards younger cadets.

Due to the nature of her position, as Head Medic of the Survey Corps, she has been deemed as an obsessive compulsive cleaner, and has been known to steralise instruments and perform surgery on the battlefield - an example being removing Erwin Smith's arm during the recovery of Eren Jaeger from the Armoured and Colossal Titans. For this reason she has been given the alias of "The Short-Stack Medic", as she is always first to appear in a medical emergency.

People put great trust in her, and she in them as she is one the longest serving members of the Survey Corps - having joined at age 17. Despite the longevity of her military career, Gwen has great respect for Commander Erwin Smith and her fellow Squad Leader, later future Commander, Hanji Zoe; believing them to be her closest friends. As well as that, Gwen admires Lance Corporal Levi Ackerman and the pair have began to acknowledge the fact that they have romantic feelings for one another.

Gwen's "methods of persuasion" are deemed to be borderline extreme, and very violent with her having threatened people with a surgical hacksaw for information. Although empathetic, she is not afraid to resort to violence, in fact preferring to resort to it as she deems time to be too valuable to waste. Like Hanji Zoe, Gwen takes an unusual, scientific interest in the anatomy of Titans, but does not get as emotionally attached as her comrade to their test subjects. She has been know to have a slightly dark sense of humour for such a bubbly person, but people rule that to how long a time she spends naming, labelling and conducting post-mortems on corpses that return from expeditions.

Though not a skilled a fighter as Levi or Mikasa Ackerman, or several other members of the Survey Corps, Gwen's skill outmatches majority of the other cadets. Having grown up as a blacksmith's daughter, for the Royal Household, she trained in several fighting techniques and, thus, knows the advanced level of her fighting skills, but offers to tutor younger cadets. For a long time she showed very little mercy towards Titans, but upon hearing of their origin she is more hesitant about killing them - wondering if there is any way to salvage the human hosts.

History
Gwendolyn Bardeaux is the daughter of the Royal Blacksmith, Phillip Bardeaux. She had a younger brother, Claude, with whom she was close with. As a child, she trained in sword-fighting, with her brother, before taking a great interest in medicine at age 11. Being a citizen of Wall Sina, she was provided with the opportunity to study medicine ad surgery, before deciding to travel around various districts to broaden her skills and knowledge. She returned to the Stohess District at age 16, to find that her father was dying and her brother had joined the army.

Upon her father's death, Gwen joined the military with her brother. Whilst she thrived in this environment, Claude struggled and ended up brawling with a younger Erwin Smith. Unfortunately, Claude was mortally injured on an expedition and Gwen watched as the Head Medic at the time failed to save him.

Like many of the other original members of the Survey Corps, Gwen's first  SnK appearance is in Season 1, Episode 4 (Anime) and remains a constant character throughout the remainder of the story - giving a testimony in the Scout's favour in Eren's trial, arguing with Hanji about test titans, comforting Eren after the deaths of Squad Levi , shouting at Levi for brutally attacking Historia, taking on Kenny Ackerman, losing half her squad to the Colossal Titan etc. Within the "Return to Shinganshina Arc", in a bid to save Armin Artlert, Gwen dives off the wall - knowing she has ran out of gas - and catches him, and managing dangle from the wall. However the force of catching the heavier boy causes her injury and leaves her out of action. In the recent chapters, Levi carries her to the edge of the sea.

Her character also appears in the Levi Ackerman OVA. After Levi, Farlan and Isabel are inducted into the Survey Corps, Gwen first meets them after being compelled to give them a medical check up. She appears throughout and attempts to comfort Levi after his friends deaths - making a promise to herself that she will make him smile again.

Abilities
ODM Gear
Gwen has a reputation for getting abnormally close to titans when in combat - even more so than Hanji. She is extremely skilled in using her ODM gear. Being quick and impressive with her blades, she is able to take down multiple titans single-handedly.

Agility
Gwen's height, socially, makes her feel uncomfortable at times, but in combat it is her greatest asset. Her small body gives her great agility and she has been seen to swoop through the crook of a titan's elbow, before slicing the nape of it's neck. This agility also comes in handy when fighting against the Military Police and Kenny Ackerman, as she is able to dive from house-to-house without detection.

Medical Knowledge
Her medical knowledge rivals that of every other member of the military - to the point where she loudly names body parts and the effects of injuries as she takes down Titans. This also is useful when she is left without her advanced kit and has to resort to more "primitive" means of healing on the battlefield.

Relationships
Levi Ackerman
Gwen and Levi's relationship starts out with mutual distaste, but respect for one another. Gwen shows an instant attraction to Levi's looks, telling Farlan, Isabel and himself that he "is one of the most handsomest specimen I've had the pleasure of examining", but there is no proper romantic interest until later on in their relationship. Whilst he admires her medical knowledge and desire for cleanliness, he belittles her height and inability to decide whether to be serious of cheerful. Levi tolerates Gwen's attempts to make him smile, finding her devotion to her cause flattering. After a near death experience finding the body of Ilse Lagnar, Levi acknowledges that his feelings for Gwen have developed from "friend and comrade" to romantic. He awkwardly attempts to ignore it, at first, before even more awkwardly trying to express it - with the assistance of Hanji. He and Gwen have kissed several times - once in battle after she retrieved his cravat from a titan's mouth - but only Levi has said "I love you" (to an unconscious Gwen and injured Gwen). Gwen has admitted to Hanji and Erwin that she loves Levi, but is too afraid to express it to him.

Erwin Smith
Despite a rocky introduction, Erwin and Gwen were good friends - having been comrades for a long time. It is hinted that there was a brief moment of romantic attraction between the two, but that was before the death of Gwen's brother and the arrival of Levi Ackerman. Gwen admired Erwin and believes him to be the greatest Commander the Survery Corps has ever had. He returned the admiration towards Gwen's superior medical knowledge - and they both openly expressed how they trusted each other completely. It probably hurt Gwen the most when Erwin died, as he was her longest friend. The pair exchanged good banter and enjoyed tormenting Levi. Erwin also expressed how he found it exhausting watching Gwen shift from serious to cheerful, depending on who she was around.

Hanji Zoe
Hanji and Gwen have a close friendship - due to their similar scientific interests. Hanji loves the fact that Gwen doesn't mock her desires to study titan-kind, but worries for her initial lack of sympathy for them. Gwen hates Hanji's recklessness, but has been openly criticised at being a hypocrite as she is as equally reckless at times. She is the first person to notice Levi's attraction towards Gwen, having known of Gwen's attraction towards Levi before Gwen did. Hanji finds it hilarious to watch the pair dance around each other, claiming that the "awkward sexual tension" provides her with more amusement than a 7 metre titan. The pair have a great bond of trust and would never question each other's judgement. Whilst Hanji was initially reluctant about becoming Commander of the Survey Corps, it is Gwen who encourages her to embrace the role for the "benefit of humanity".

Moblit Berner
Moblit and Gwen were on good terms through Hanji. Gwen found it funny at how stressed he got with his superior officer, but expressed great concerns at his drinking problem. After his death, Gwen playfully remembers him, joking that the stress of his job was a worse way to die than by a titan.

Eren Jaeger
Gwen shows great sympathy for Eren, but also curiousity. They have a good friendship and Eren admires Gwen as a soldier. After performing many medical examinations on Eren - after Hanji's tests - Gwen is now set on finding a way to remove the Titan Shifter powers, once the war is over. She admires Eren's passion, and openly admits that he reminds her of Claude, thus she treats him like a little brother, which Eren accepts. They have clashed recently on the subject of the titans, as Eren is appalled at Gwen's desire to try and save the human host, when the titans are still trying to kill humanity. However, he showed great concern when she was injured and they have chosen not to speak about the topic.

Squad Levi (1&2)
Both formations of the Special Ops squad have a good relationship with Gwen. Her squad of Medical Squad Alpha, traces the movements of the Special Ops on expeditions, because they are the strongest soldiers, and thus need the best medical attention should something happen. However, this doesn't stop Gwen from detouring with a few members of her squad to provide further medical aid to others.
