My name is Megan, and I'm twenty years old. I'm an English / Spanish double major with a minor in Writing and a minor in Women's Studies. My passion in life is writing, but I also have a special love for both photography and music. I sing, play in a bell choir, and take lessons in piano, flute, and alto sax. It's been a long time since I've posted a journal on here. I'm so glad to be part of deviantART; it's such a great community for all artists, no matter which medium they choose to work in. I'm always so pleased with the positive energy that can be found on this site, and that's what keeps me here.A lot has happened since my last post. I got a D3, which is lovely beyond words. That's a recent thing, so I haven't gotten to do too much with it yet. I need a decent FX wide-angle before I can do any new landscapes, but that's only a matter of time. Groups and Cleanout.

I finally joined a whole assortment of groups, both for writing and for photography! These are exciting times. I never understood the concept of groups until #FlowerMeadow asked to feature one of my pictures. Last night I decided to find as many groups as I could. I'm not done yet, but so far, I'm loving the idea of groups! Unity is great for artists.Also, I'm going through my iPhoto and finally submitting the work I've been hoarding. These shots are all with my D5000 until I get out some more and edit the ones I've taken with the D7000. New work galore! D7000!

I bought a D7000 today. I can't believe it. I've been talking about getting a second camera body for a while now, and I was going to settle for the D90. I went on Nikon and drooled over all of the different bodies. I was going to go for the 300S, but then I realized that the D7000 was more suited to my needs. It's a beautiful, beautiful piece of equipment. We stopped at a wonderful little shop in Hershey on our way home from Gettysburg. The owners were a married couple, and they were both really sweet.
