My Bio

Former submariner, hobbyist woodworker and handyman, and now an instructor teaching monkeys how to make electricity off in the wild blue yonder. So hopefully now i'm much less of a pedant than I was when I typed my last bio.

Native Georgian currently trapped on West Coast, eventually to be trapped somewhere in East Africa in a few years, god-willing.

I do all sorts of stuff in my time off, such as make maps and flags and graphs and info blurbs and stuff, i'm guessing you're here for those. In which case welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay.

As I said yesterday, I kind of fibbed in the 2025 roadmap by omitting a project I am working on. Originally, I wasn’t going to mention it at all but then I changed my mind, but upon changing my mind I decided that if I am going to dedicate a whole journal to one upcoming project, I should probably explain a lot more about it than I did in the short blurbs for other projects. So here it is! A tiny-ish but still longer preview of a sci-fi setting that will be brought to you by yours truly!   Set in the far future long after the extinction(?) of the human race, we will follow the machine civilization that succeeded humanity which currently lives in a ring of orbital habitats above a broken Earth, along with some other parts of the Solar System.   The divisions among the machine race are primarily theological and mythological, stemming from the question of what their relationship is to the long-departed humans. The machines believe in a somewhat gnostic “religion”, or we might say they

A short note

0 min read
Just finished counting and realized that WtFC has finally broken 200 pages. Well, uh... 200 more are to come before we even get to the story I guess. Sorry everyone! Anyhow, I'm not just posting again to say that but to "own up" to the fact that I sort of fibbed in my last journal. There actually is another map or micro-setting oneshot I've been working on for this year but didn't mention because I haven't yet decided exactly how I will present it graphically. It's sci-fi. I'll go over it in some detail (which is to say greater detail than I gave for the other upcoming projects) in a "2025 roadmap addendum" journal tomorrow.

Roadmap 2025

0 min read
Howdy everyone! It’s been a long long long time since I’ve communicated with posts, perhaps I should do it more often. I’ve been meaning to give everyone a roadmap for this year, or something roadmap-ish, which is to say a list of things planned and in progress. I put roadmap 2025 because it is 2025 not because I expect to do all this in 2025, it’s certainly possible I finish all of this relatively early into this year, or the opposite, but in either case the list isn’t exhaustive and is certain to grow as I get things out and as more ideas come to me.   First of all, we have “When the Flowers Cry”, my little fantasy project in service to a fantasy story. I appreciate all of you who are actually trudging through all the stuff I’m putting out there, especially when I just drop text updates on you. The plan for this is clear because it is all in service to getting us to the point where the story begins, but suffice it to say we are not even half-way through. With that in mind I feel it

I've always wanted to ask is, is there a reason why your Favorites section is completely bare? It's just one of the few times I've come across an account that doesn't really have one.

I suppose it's a difference in compulsion. I've never been the kind of person to favorite things or put them into folders on any site really. Not here, or youtube, or twitter, or whatever. For me it's always been that if I really like something i'll periodically return to it, and if I forget it then i'll be excited when I find it again. I also don't like the idea of other people being able to see the things I fave, not that they would see anything improper it's just not something about my time on this site that i'd want to invite other people into by letting them see. Eventually it became a sort of force of habit, after so many years of never favoriting anything, I don't have it in me to "start now". The contrast between not favoriting people's things while wanting other people to favorite my own stuff is not lost on me, but it is what it is.

That's a perfectly valid reason, just curious to see why.

Do you do commissions, requests or something to that effect?

I do not. However, if you tell me your idea and I do it I will mention and tag you in it.

Just read through your When China Rules the World scenario...thought you might be amused to hear that the narrator in the first post (Wu Guoping) was born 12 days ago. Happy belated birthday to him! =P
