BASED ON THE CHARACTER "GYAOS" OWNED AND CREATED BY DAEI FILM AND KADOKAWA DAIEI STUDIO. BASED ON THE MONSTERVERSE SERIES OWNED AND CREATED BY LEGENDARY PICTURES AND WARNER BROS. PICTURES.
This superspecies emerged from the underground, specifically from Himegami Island. They flew as a swarm of Rhamphorhynchoidea-like creatures, with size ranging from a typical male adult to larger than a van. There was a much larger, dominating creature of this kind though, standing at around two-hundred-and-fifty feet tall. Such creature posed a threat to humanity since they fed on any livestock and humans, similar to their relatives, the Cranium reptant.
<Classification>
From anatomy to DNA sequences, Monarch declared that they shared the same super-classification with the Skullcrawlers, under the Cranium classification. Both species share a scaleless, wet skin with internal bony plates, a head resembling that of the mosasaurs, and a pair of well-developed hands. The creature only differs from Skullcrawlers in possessing a specialized, arrow-shaped crest, a beak, wings, shorter legs, and a caudal-fin-like tail with a sting facing the sky. Monarch thus designated the creature “Skullwings” or “Cranium ptera”, based on their signature bat-like wings.
Skullwings are the first ever discovered flying amphibian. The hindlimbs of Skullwings proportionally smaller than most of the flying raptors, leaving to evolutionary theories of approaching to a winged Skullcrawler.
Skullwings are highly sensitive to sound. It is perhaps they communicate and search for food majorly relying on the sense of hearing, proved by the large ear-like structure in their crests, and it is a related behavior to the Hellswarm and their alpha, Camazotz. They may also rely on smelling chemicals suspended in the air to track preys and avoid enemies, similar to Skullcrawlers. The creatures are as well hypervorous and have an insatiable appetite, possibly due to their regenerative abilities to heal wounds and thus a high metabolic rate.
Different from the smaller individuals, the giant Skullwings seemed to possess more combat abilities than simply flying and acrobatics. Given a second name to differentiate him from the lesser, Gyaos showcases the potentials of Skullwings to develop into more dangerous creature than ever before.
<Abilities>
Gyaos can take flight easily with the developed chest muscles. He may dive from the sky and attack with the claws of the lesser limbs. The curvy beak allows him to tear any tight muscular tissues. The tail sting is venomous, like certain species of sting rays.
An attack called the Supersonic Scalpel is seen when he concentrated the vibrations and sound at his throat. A ray of light with heat is shot after the charging, which it appears not an attack option for the smaller, juvenile Skullwings with a tender and soft thorat. Drips of black oil continuously excreted from the body, with a viscous texture and solidifying after a period of time. The oil is thought to be a metabolic by-product of their meal. If the oil trapped the wings from extending, Gyaos may amplify the vibrations internally to shatter the solidified oil.
Gyaos appeared to be a sexually matured individual, ready for reproduction. Although he called for a mate, there was no immediate response. If theorizing with the existing number of the flock of Skullwings and relating to their amphibian origin, a clutch of three hundred to four hundred of eggs may be the possible litter size.
<History>
Gyaos and Skullwings emerged from the Hollow Earth tunnel located on Himegami Island after sometime the Destoroyah incident happened. While they exhibited cannibalism, the flock destroyed several cities in Japan and consumed most living things on the path.
However, their rampage was put to an end by an unnamed Hollow Earth Titan. The Titan fired flaming projectiles to wipe out the smaller individuals and flew to battle against Gyaos midair. Gyaos also fought recklessly, appearing to take the Titan’s life in all cost, only to be shot and incinerated in a blast of hot plasma. From the current situation, Monarch is uncertain whether the two species have a prey-predator relationship but they speculated Gyaos and the Titan could be both apex predator based on their behaviors.
