The paragon of ‘gentle giant’, Calisaya walks her path in a carefree manner and is often talking to the nonsensical voices in her head who she calls her ‘imaginary friends’. Due to this, she often speaks in third person, referring to herself as “Saya”. While her father thought nothing of it when she was a child, as she grew older, he came to believe his daughter possessed some spiritual connection to the land. Calisaya has a charming and childish way of going about things and has plenty to learn once she steps out of the small space she knew all her life. With a friendly approach towards most, she will often ask for a story and share her own experiences growing up in the harsh freezing mountain village, Silforge. The duality of Calisaya's character; this giantess may be naive, but is built for survival and defense. When faced with danger, she is ruthless and protective of those she cares for.
Bio Summary:
Raised by her father and grandfather, Calisaya lived most of her childhood sheltered and knowing little beyond the frigid Ashspire mountain region, she was taught to survey the tundra region and learned to hunt/gather in extreme cold weather. During her teenage years, Saya traveled with her father to Moonthala; she came to hear wonderful stories of this warm marshland and in one particular tale, introduced to the idea of love. Shortly after in Moonthala, Calisaya was kidnapped to be wedded, but she managed to battle her way out and returned to Silforge as a runaway bride. Upon returning to Silforge, she helped her grandfather tend to guests at his hot spring bath house. Doing so, allowed for her to properly interact with all sorts of individuals and begin to learn the untold side of Asteria and The Depth.
Full Bio:
Born in Silforge on a harsh winter’s morning, a new mother Giantess and father Beastmen, doted on their newborn; however by sundown, the mother passed away due to a weak constitution. The old father was enraged with the midwives and doctor that did nothing more to save the new mother; only could they continue to reiterate that as a Giant, she should have been strong enough to pull through childbirth. Devastated, but not surprised; considering how the city folk usually were, it gave the Beastmen grandfather a reason to blame and loathe those present and have an unspoken hatred for the city. Saddened and frigid, the baby’s father took her in his arms, deciding to name her Calisaya; after his favorite drink he consumed to diffuse the sorrow in his heart and keep him warm that night.
In the outskirts of Silforge nestled in the Ashspire Mountains, there living cozily was Calisaya along with her father and grandfather. Due to their remote living, Calisaya was quite sheltered and heavily protected by the only two she has known all her life. Normally, before the birth, her father had planned to allow for his child to be adventurous on their own, but that idea vanished after the mother’s passing. He was tormented by the nightmares of Calisaya being taken away and at times even awaking in the middle of the night to check she was still home. Calisayas grandfather was grateful that the surrounding mountains had bound them within a frosted bubble, which not even travelers go out of their way to visit, no- he wouldn’t dream of Calisaya integrating with the people of Silforge and she didn’t. Grandfather shared his family secrets with Calisaya at an early age; passing on the knowledge of traversing through the tundra for hunting and gathering food, as well as collecting materials for her grandfather's trade and daily use. Fishing was Saya's favorite past time and she learned to create and sharpen arrowheads as well as becoming proficient in handling a javelin, hitting with near perfect accuracy. She learned wood carving from her grandfather, who she holds in the highest respect, admiring his way of going about things. Her father, while melancholic did his best to teach her when he wasn't keeping to himself. He taught her to have an appreciation for all living beings and honoring the land that sustained their existence. He was the more lenient of the two Beastmen, telling her that it was reasonable to trust others when the time came for it. Her grandfather would disagree with this statement. It made Saya's father think of his daughter's future. She is reverent but independent. For the longest time she ventured through ice dunes and hiked up the coldest of mountains, her body was more than capable of handling the bone eating frost. Having imaginary friends/voices exclusively reaching her ears, she never felt lonely. Being alone made her pick up the habit of talking to herself, but as well as singing; the soft tone in her voice soothed her. Fulfilling her grandfather’s wishes, Calisaya made sure to never cross paths with city folk and instead became a garnered rumor of an ‘abysmal giga’; lurking through the permafrost and scattered forests. Uncertainty was due to never being granted a closer look.
Calisaya’s father dawdled on the idea of returning to Moonthala, where he originally came from. At least there, he knew most of the Beastmen and their way of living to be more favorable and up to his standards. For Calisaya’s sake and for his better peace of mind, he needed to expose her to this freedom. He took her away from the cradle of the Ashspire Mountains at the age of fourteen, leaving behind their strict elder. After a long and tiresome journey, Calisaya arrived to her father’s hometown, learning that once out of the tundra’s reigns, most of the fur on her body would shed and the hair on her head would grow out in frenzy. While she was saddened to leave her grandpapa behind, she enjoyed herself adapting to the warm forest and marshes, where she learned how to forage plants and further developed a playful demeanor as she frolicked in the marsh waters; usually returning home covered in leaves and mud.
While in Moonthala, her father opened up to speak of their forefathers taking part of the Ilth War and visited the areas where her mother and father came to meet. It was the first time she saw any light in her father's eyes and it intrigued her to know the feeling her parents both felt for one another. When most of her neighbors grew accustomed to having Calisaya and her father within their circle, one household proposed an arranged marriage with their youngest son. Calisaya thought nothing of the proposal, but even though she hadn't known much of marriage, she was more interested in knowing this boy. Her father was mentally distraught; seeing how Calisaya agreed to the arrangement. Upon having a celebratory dinner with many neighbors; one figure stood as a beautiful woman. Taking Saya's hand, the woman lead the young girl away from the crowd; in hopes of encouraging Calisaya to become a good wife, she told a heartfelt tale. Calisaya listened to the articulate words weaving the potential love and aspirations within every future. It reminded her of when she saw the light in her father's eyes. Calisaya took the tale for reference and wondered of the marriage; perhaps this wasn't the best decision after all.
That evening, Calisaya left a family in shame and a few members took great lengths to abduct Calisaya out of spite. It was during these moments of panic that her head rang; a bell inside her ringing true, she did as instructed by a voice that shared its frequency with only her. Warding off the members with a terrific and terrifying strength, Calisaya ran away to her father. Fortunately for Calisaya, her grandfather’s desire to check on his granddaughter led him to start his journey for Moonthala long ago and arrived at the right time. Upon returning to her father, it was a surprise to see the elder beastman. She cried out her wishes to him, telling grandpapa how she felt disappointment in fighting off others because of her own silly decisions. Her grandfather proposed an intervention to reconcile with everyone involved and Calisaya was known as the runaway bride to return to Silforge.
Once again in the embrace of the chilly Ashspire Mountains, Calisaya came to find that her grandfather had relocated and opened a hot spring bath house using the natural geysers that were formed along the mountains. This was a display of conceding to her father's wishes. Calisaya was to interact with city folk, so that she would be more empathetic. It would be easier in this way, since most patrons would be passive and unprovoked at a place meant to relax.
Working at the bath house, she developed a fondness in tending to patrons and offered a free service of brushing or lulling them to sleep with her singing, as she was often told that it was soothing and almost like sleeping in death's sweet embrace- something to end every traveler's tiresome quest. Calisaya only ever asked in return for a tale of her patron's adventures in Asteria. The result from speaking with the patrons gave Calisaya the ability to understand other's a little more and reflect on her decisions during her time in Moonthala. She learned how families were torn by The Depth, being told she wouldn't survive there and she believed them. Knowing this, made her more aware of cherishing the time spent with those around her. There was hope that she could find her one true love, even if she faced rejection with how clumsily she approached others.
One day while out clearing the path behind the bathhouse, she thought herself to imagine the trees speaking to her or maybe it was a new voice in her head, but this time it had clearly called out to her. She continued to stay awake for nights in a row, not wanting to miss the chance to hear the voice once again. In a weary state, she thought to hear the voice again. She walked past the back of the bath house, even farther than usual, but it was there in an unmarked area that the snowy ground below her shook and gave way. She fell through a hole and landed into a small hidden ice cavern. Her eyelids fell heavy and her consciousness succumbing to the calm of the snow beneath; the ringing in her head dissipated as she then felt the white emptiness. A brilliant blank canvas incapable of comparing to the snow she knew all her life and followed by it, a silence she couldn't bare. Soon to realize, that she was about to experience her own tale of adventure within The Depth.

Extras:
The hair on her head is extremely durable and in warmer conditions, will grow rapidly, take for example- her time in Moonthala her hair grew to her ankles in a year. She has thick fur covering her arms, legs, chest, private parts, but as it gets warmer her body prepares to shed for a small period of time before she grows a thinner coat.
Calisaya was born on the coldest day that Silforge has ever been through.
Mainly eats vegetables and fish, is extremely picky about heavier meats and slightly picky about some fruits.
Often sings, especially when she is alone since she was an only child and had no one to talk to her same age..!
When talking to herself/spooky voices- she will most likely speak in third person, if she talks to actual people she will use first person.
The voices she hears are garbled words and will try very hard to interpret something. If busy listening to those voices she will misconstrue what others are saying to her in the present and ask them to repeat themselves.
There is one voice that stands out from the other voices, softer but words clearer and sounds like an 'echoed' voice. This voice doesn't come often, but has presented itself when she is panicked and usually directs her to do something, she will sometimes hear this voice echoing as she sings. Later on in the Depths of her adventure- the 'echo' takes form of a blue flower and she can use it to put herself to sleep.
She loves to sing nonsensical lyrics, in particular this song would be a good example of her singing with her echo "Different Lives"
Samples for her singing: "All Time" , "Before the Dark"
Her echo singing: "Everytime" , "Night"
