Hi there, thanks for dropping by. I've been painting seriously since 2003, and all my work is now shared here to view. The welcome here has been amazing, so thank you to all of you!
Artist and illustrator in natural history, botanical painting, generic landscape, still life. A love of detailed observation of the natural world, vivid colours, textures and decorative effects hopefully all come together in my work.
Stylistic influences medieval paintings, the Pre-Raphaelites and the decorative art movements, so it’s clear I enjoy line, colour and detail. I love the journey through a drawing or painting, from initial brief or idea, to processes, to final result. Having taught my own art classes for ten years, I have recently drawn these to a close to make more time for my creative writing, which dovetails beautifully with my painting.
I work in a wide range of media with a passion for methods and techniques, from watercolour and tonal pencil or pen and ink, to acrylics and mixed media.

Most of my writing is done in my blog and within my creative writing, using my pen name of Lynne Fisher. For my debut womens fiction novel, On Turtle Beach, set in Dalyan in Turkey, I really enjoyed creating an artist character with associated creative angsts, as one of the two sister protagonists. Chapter 4 is kind of a personal manifesto for me! The novel was a joy to write because I was able to use that artists observation which we all have, so intense and wonderful once cultivated, in such a special place as Dalyan which I had personally experienced on holiday; beach, land and sea and many exotic plants.
If anyone is interested On Turtle Beach, by Lynne Fisher, is available from Amazon as paperback or ebook here mybook.to/OnTurtleBeach
And there's a slideshow to go with the book here, full of visual delights simply to enjoy

Just before Christmas, 2019, I published my second womens fiction book, After Black.
If you are interested here is the essence of the story: Recently widowed Janet returns to her beloved job at Masons department store, only to find her new peace of mind shattered by a feisty young co-worker she loathes. The mutual antagonism of the two women leads to Janet revealing a terrible secret which soon escalates into her dark and unhappy past being dragged into the light of the present. With her world upside down she struggles to come to terms, and in her suffering strives to take action and make amends. Will she be able to face her own demons and what will the dramatic result be?
