Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season! My friend, Don Taylor, suggested a story involving an unscrupulous character during hurricane Milton. Like many, I experienced Milton firsthand, having gone over five days without power. So, the opportunity to tell a story about it intrigued me. I took Don’s idea and expanded on the main character’s motivation and the idea that he takes advantage of a bad situation. As with any natural disaster or tragedy, people will come together to do good and help each other as a community or in some cases, do harm to each other. The title, saltshaker, Heinz 57, and even one of the faces on page 3, are all nods to singer Jimmy Buffett. Finally, this will be the first story of Horror Shorts, issue #3.
