What are Stemlins?

Stemlins are a semi-open species I created to be the main characters in a farming/exploring ARPG group. 


Stemlins themselves are bipedal creatures that stand between 60 and 90 cm tall- around 2-3 feet- in height on average, though some exceptional examples are taller or smaller than this. They have extremely varied appearances, but can be distinguished by their strange snouts that look like someone combined a deer, dog, and cow's noses together, their leathery fingertips, and their unique footprints. Their ears vary greatly in length, but are typically of the same rough shape, though this is not a hard and fast rule.

What is a Semi-Open Species?

A semi-open species means that the species owner- me- withholds the right to make Stemlins that have certain features, but am leaving the species open to be made by others if they follow certain rules to keep their characters correctly following the Stemlin anatomy and lore. For stemlins specifically, there are three kinds of stemlin that can be made:

Official: An official stemlin is one that is drawn by either myself or the species co-owner Rakkunkun. These are the stemlins that will be added to the StemlinsArchive account and be eligible to play in the ARPG, breed, and gain otherwise locked mutations.

Unofficial: An unofficial stemlin is one that is created by a user for their own personal use as a character, following the guidelines that will be published at a later time. Unofficial stemlins are canonly recognized as stemlins, but do not live in the Misseria realm with stemlins from the group and cannot interact directly with them. They will however have chances to immigrate into the group during monthly immigration events or with the use of a passport item. Stemlins who are immigrating must fit the necessary guidelines and will then be drawn by one of the species owners, given an ID number, and added to the archive account.

Illegal*: Characters that are created with mutations, illegal traits, or who otherwise do not follow the Unofficial Stemlin guidelines will not be considered stemlins. They cannot be immigrated and will be asked not to refer to themselves as stemlins unless their designs are corrected.
