New family Part 13

Later in the afternoon I went in to the forest with Zak to test the blade out, he went in to his werewolf form and threw some logs at me, as the blade hit the wood, it cut through it like it was hot butter, I was amazed by this I looked back at the log and the cut was clean but also the log had a burn running through it from the sword, I turned to Zak and said “ok maybe something a little more dense, he then picked up a brick from a nearby abandoned house and threw that, and surely enough the blade went clean through, I looked the blade up and down and said “no wonder this is called the all cutter, this could cut through objects with the air alone.” After saying that I decided to try my theory on a tree next to me, I stood just far enough so the blade would not connect with the tree and gave my all in to a swing, the tree didn’t budge but when I looked the air had charred the wood badly.

When we got back to the house I noticed Melissa was following us, I acted oblivious and Materialised the angel to spook her slightly, the angel then sat in the living area and when Melissa came in the angel stood up and said “it’s rude to ease drop you know.” Melissa just stood there and said “very funny Louise but that won’t scare me.” I then walked behind her and put my arms around her chest and said “how about this then?” she then jumped and slapped me and shouted “that isn’t funny!!!” she them stormed up the stairs and slammed her bedroom door, I looked to Zak and said “I think that worked a little too well.” He laughed and said “I thought it was great, but I’m guessing it work too well, don’t worry, she will be ok in an hour, but you need to rest I am not a genius but that sword must absorb a lot of your energy.” He was right; I slumped on to the sofa and blacked out. I awoke to the feeling of a hand on my face, I awoke to see Melissa with a soft grin on her face, I sat up and noticed I was outside, and naked I looked at her and said “very funny Melissa, give me my clothes back,” she grinned and said “only if you catch me first, she then morphed to a bat and flew off, I had a massive headache and wasn’t in the mood for messing about, I became smoke and flew straight past Melissa and rematerialized and grabbed her and said “come on babe, I am freezing and not well she morphed to human and said “ok then spoil sport she then kissed me and handed my clothes.

When we got back to the house something seemed off, we went in and it was quiet, too quiet. I looked upstairs and no one was here and Melissa scoured downstairs and couldn’t find anyone, I looked in the living room and saw a piece of paper, as I looked at it and it had a photo with Drac, Elizabeth the three kids and Zak all tied up and the words, return the knife!

I dropped the paper a said “not again, NOT AGAIN!!” Melissa ran in and said “what is it?!” she looked at the note and dropped it in horror she then grabbed me and said “what do we do?!” I took a breath and said “you are going to stay here, hide in the basement.” She looked and said “I want to help!” I looked her in the eyes and said “if you want to help me then stay here, please I don’t want you to see what I will be doing, and I love you too much and I wouldn’t be able to live myself if you get hurt in any way.” She gave me a sad look and said please come back safe.” She then kissed me and I picked up the paper and looked at the address, I noticed it was in the red zone of the city, I made haste to the address.

Once I got to the address I was approached by three CCC members and they said “come with us, I had a light hold of the blade in my pocket, I followed them and was lead to the basement of an old building. I walked up to see them all tied up and blindfolded, I went to untie them and heard a familiar voice, “Don’t you dare Luke, untie them and they will be killed.” I stood up to see my mother walking in wearing a dark blue uniform and her hair was white as snow, I stood there and said “I have your little butter knife, now release them!” she looked to the CCC member and they released them from their bonds and I Materialised the angel and said “get them out of here safely!” she nodded her head and guided each one of them out, I then looked to Alice and said “You say I am a shame to the family? You are the one who just kidnapped a family for a stupid knife!”

she then withdrew her Rapier and flew in to attack, I had just enough time to block her first hit but was knocked back a few feet, I then clasped the knife and watched it form in to a sword, she stood there and said “so you know its secret, for that you must die!” she tried to barrage me with an assault, but I was more switched on now, I dodged her attacks and parried the attack, Alice grew more mad her attacks were becoming more vicious and blind, I went to slash clean through her but was cut across my chest, I fell to the floor in agony she then stood over me and said “even now your nothing more than an embarrassment and a failure to the family!” she went to make a decisive blow but was stopped by Drac, he grabbed the blade and said “LEAVE MY DAUGHTER ALONE!!” he booted her out of the way and gave me time to recall the angel and heal myself, as I did I got straight to my feet and helped Drac, we managed to hold Alice off for a while until a rouge CCC member intervened and stabbed Drac through the chest. I turned and saw him falling to the floor; this became my breaking point, as I went berserk the blade in my hand changed to a Viking like sword and I turned on the CCC member, I grabbed him by the throat and stabbed him multiples of times through the chest and disintegrated his body, I then turned to Alice and said “you know what’s funny? MUM! Elizabeth and Drac have been more of a family to me than you or my dad has ever been!!!” I then made a light speed shot and broke her rapier and lunged the broken blade through her chest as she collapsed in a heap on the floor she said “you know something Luke, I was wrong, you would of made a great CCC member.” I glared down at her and said “you are not worth killing.” I quickly ran to Drac and said “come on Drac stay with me you will be fine!” I materialised the angel and said “go get Elizabeth to help me quick!” the angel then shot off to get help, I then turned back to Drac and tried to hold the blood in, I felt the tears welling up as he grabbed my hand and said “Louise… I am truly thankful that I met you… You’re a wonderful person and we are truly lucky to have you as a part of our family.” I began sobbing and he said “don’t cry dear, I will still be with you all in spirit…” and with them words his body went limp, and he was gone. I sat there crying over his dead body when I heard behind me, “finally I thought that old cunt was never going to croak.” I turned to see Alice stumbling to her feet carrying a small combat knife, my rage grew one hundred fold as I turned I picked up the katana and ruthlessly slashed at her until she was nothing more than dust, I just stood there, covered in blood when I saw Elizabeth walk down and see Drac’s  body and me sobbing. She went straight to Drac body and cried over it I walked up and said “I am sorry, Elizabeth I tried my best but they were too much. She looked up and “no… this was his plan… he knew they were too strong for you so he came to help you, he knew he was going to die.” We walked back home and Melissa ran up and said “thank God you’re ok Louise… w-weres dad? I just looked her in the eyes and she broke down in tears.

It was a sorrowful night; I had called the leader and the Doctor to tell them the bad news, not many words were said to each other we all just sat in quiet and mourned.
