Beifong Blood - Part 5
Part 5: Answers
Mako had finally uncovered some useful information. One of the very last boxes checked had contained all of Lin’s legal information and documents. The most interesting documents in the box were copies of Lin’s will.
Su frowned at the papers in her hands. These documents were drafts of Lin’s will. There were several drafts, the earliest dating back almost twenty years and the most recent draft dated only a few weeks ago, just before the explosion that killed her. While everyone in the room had been briefed on the contents, only Tenzin and Mako had actually read the wills. They had known Lin best, but they were equally puzzled by the documents.
“Does anyone know what to make of these?” Su asked to the room in general.
A general murmur of no echoed around the room in response. Peeking around Tenzin’s shoulder Bolin pointed to the bottom of the page at the signature lines. “Who is Yoritomo Hamada?”
Looking at the signatures Su shook her head in a mixture of
Part 4: Questions
Su had not gone through any of Lin’s things. The few boxes containing her sisters’ personal belongings had been placed in a guest room on Air Temple Island. She had collected them ten days after the ship sank, when rescuers called off the search and declared the missing officially dead. There had been a public service to honor the lost, but she had been too numb to remember most of it. Kya and Pema had gone with her to the small apartment and helped her pack her sisters few belongings. It was hard to believe that it had only been two weeks.
She sighed deeply and looked around the crowded room. All her remaining family was in attendance along with Tenzin, his siblings, Korra, Asami and Bolin. Mako had asked them all to be present when he gave them the updates from the investigation. She hoped he would have answers, she wanted closure.
Looking at the crowded room, Mako fidgeted slightly. Questions had to be asked and he had no way of predicting how anyone would
Beifong Blood: Part 3Baatar was tired, so very tired. All around him was endless ocean, above him was a clear blue sky with neither bird or cloud in sight, only the sun. His aching eyes searched the skies, hoping, praying for clouds, rain, anything to relieve their thirst or hide them from the burning sun. His hands were raw and blistered from hours of rowing. The rowing had become mechanical, he didn’t stop or think about anything else until Kuvira traded places with him.Kuvira told them that she had followed the men who had taken them and managed to stow away on Damu’s ship. Her own injuries had prevented her from making any immediate re...

Beifong Blood part 2
Part 2:Agony. That was the first thing that registered in Lin's mind. She clamped down on the pain. Don’t panic she reminded herself. Gather information. Know your territory. She was lying on a cold, smooth surface, probably some type of metal with her hands tied behind her back. Someone else was in the room, their ragged breathing the only break in the silence. Whoever had tied her had removed her gauntlets and armor which meant that the floor was most likely platinum. She could hear the ragged breathing of another person in the room hitch as he regained consciousness. Finally opening her eyes Lin took in the bare, platinum coated room.Tu...
Part 1When the reports came in, everyone seemed to freeze. Barely a month ago, the trial of the war criminal Kuvira had concluded and judgment passed. Kuvira had been sentenced to a minimum of thirty years in prison. Baatar Jr. had also been on trial and received a somewhat lighter sentence. Due to the animosity towards the pair from the Earth Kingdom, the council had decided that they both would serve out their sentences in Fire Nation prisons. This choice was made to make assassination attempts more difficult and the fact that the prisons were on small, inhospitable islands made escape virtually impossible. A full regiment of United Forc...

Past and Present: A Beifong Story
Past and Present: A Beifong StoryLin was storming, she couldn’t help it. Very muscle was rigid, every movement sharp. How dare he! How dare he even mention that night! Especially when she was in the middle of trying to put a city back together and a family crisis to boot! She turned abruptly into an alley and smashed her fist into a wall. Stepping back from damaged wall, she took several deep breathes, trying to calm herself before stepping back on the street. The old man didn’t need her bashing down his house.Reaching the house she pounded on the door which was promptly answered. Yoritomo Hamada was a short, elderly gentleman with a neatl...
