finishing commissions has been stressing me out and something happened in school that has me ultra stressed
to prevent myself from having a meltdown I decided to work on something to make me happy
Phoebe is...a character I've been working on for...maybe like a week now? thats not long I suppose, compared to other characters people may have, but im faaar from finished with her. Regardless, I love her a lot and even when I had my doubts I found myself still coming back to her. So here she is.
Phoebe is a branch off of me, I suppose. She has my personality, likes, and dislikes, mixed with some character traits I really like or I wish I had personally. But something else about her is that she lives in a Medieval Fantasy world, which is something I absolutely ADORE and have for years after playing RF4. Phoebe is quite heavily RF4 based, more so in story than design but we'll get to that.
This is the first time I've had a ton of fun working on a reference. Heck, there's still stuff I want to include, but I din't want to make the reference too big. but that wont stop me from potentially adding in some things later-
anyway, here's what I really wanted to share: Phoebe's backstory. Its more of a summary and doesn't go into great detail (yet), but im proud of it nonetheless and would love to hear some opinions on it ~
Phoebe was a warrior and the commander of an army in a war between her nation/kingdom, and that of the nation/kingdom belonging to mythical creatures. A war defending her nation from being conquered and corrupted by the mythicals. The war lasted 10 long years and after a bloody, traumatizing battle that felt like forever, Phoebe led her people to victory in a feat of tactical brilliance. They had won a battle they should have lost long ago. However, immediately after her victory, the overexertion of her body and her abilities caused her to collapse, and fall into a coma. She was taken in for urgent medical attention but in her time, the clinic doctors were not skilled enough to even ease her critical condition. Eventually, she became a lost cause, and they gave up on her. She was thought to die days later. However, from high above, behind heaven's gate, lived a golden dragon of the name Jinxin, who was the ruler of the entirety of the kingdom. He had watched the incredible courage and leadership and determination of Phoebe and granted her one final wish before her passing. She wished to protect the people of her nation again from further harm in the future, and for her nation to be happy. ' if that is what you desire.' chanted the dragon before sending her back down to earth. he granted her not only the gift of immortality, but a tiara that housed a fraction of his immense power, and deemed her princess of the kingdom, housing her in a mansion in the central town. There she would protect her kingdom for millenniums to come.
theres a lot more to her now, such as her weapon of choice being a battle axe and magic, but thats for another time.
