Description

Are you going to ch*rch tonight? Pray that I won't be going too.

Isn't it beautiful....
Yeah, people try to tell me every now and then: "But it's a beautiful building!"
Hmm.... every time I hear that it makes me wanna.... *breathes in.... then out.... powerfully*
"Yes, NOW it's beautiful."

That's one awesome thing about being a dragon, by the way. Burning ch*rches comes so natural.

Okay, aside from the slightly humorous part, this is actually a very serious piece. In case you wonder, yes, I mean it. I totally and unconditionally mean it. My hatred for xnity is a secret to no one who knows me at this point. The hatred for these hideous buildings is quite a natural extension of that. Especially when they keep building more and more of them all over the place. If that's the case, in my understanding, someone has to go burn them every once in a while, to achieve a dynamic equilibrium of sorts. Not that I wouldn't see plenty of need for burning them even if they never built new ones anymore, but that's another topic. Anyway, I like to entertain myself picturing them burning because I simply can't stand the sight of them otherwise. Unfortunately, actually burning them is illegal even in a funny country like the one where I live. However, no one, and I mean NO ONE, can forbid me from burning them in my art. I find that exceptionally enjoyable and satisfying. Also, it makes me feel so much better and happier. Especially in days like these.
So, this is the second one I burn. It definitely won't be the last. That's a promise.

By the way, I generally enjoy drawing fire. Yet this was something special to do. Not just the flames, but as a whole. Unlike the non-burning ch*rches, this is a thing of pure beauty and drawing it feels liberating, purifying, empowering. Drawing anti-xtian and/or Satanic works always feels awesome and is almost like a ritual for me. Of course, some dark, evil Black Metal gives me tons of inspiration for it. Satanic music is truly priceless for this kind of ritualistic art. It just starts drawing itself after one point, and it gives me all the pleasures of evil.

Oh, one important bit. While I have had that in mind for a while, I did it precisely now for an occasion. They have a celebration now. The one I hate the most. So that's my greeting card for it. Enjoy.

Drawn in Ps CS6, with Wacom Intuos4 tablet.
Original size: 4662 x 2664 px. Time elapsed: about 10 hours (makes it a serious piece indeed).
No references.... as much as I would have loved to have a real life one for the ch*rch.

EDIT:
And now my best friend, :iconshadowthedragonwolf: decided to do a follow-up piece to this one, check it out:  Spreading the Flames by ShadowTheDragonWolf
What can I say? It made me immensely happy to hear from them about this idea and then I absolutely love the finished piece! I must say this means a whole lot to me.

Spread the word. Spread the joy. Spread the Flames \m/
