Art Basel Miami and Art Fairs
Journal Entry: Mon Dec 21, 2009, 2:38 PM
Recently, one of the most important art shows in the U.S., the Art Basel Miami, was held from the 2nd to 5th of December in Miami Beach. During this time, a wide range of contemporary art was on displayed by galleries and dealers from around the world. I had the opportunity to visit Miami for three days during the show to see the current trends in the art world. At the same time, there were likely another 30 to 40 art fairs being held simultaneously such as Art Miami, Red Dot, and other fairs.
Indeed, the Art Basel was a fantastic show and Art Miami was very impressive as well. There were many famous artists' works being displayed such as Picasso, Chagall, Joan Miró, Kandinsky, de Kooning, Henry Moore, Andy Warhol, Chuck Close, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, and so on in addition to many amazing works by contemporary artists. Also, paintings by Sylvester Stallone (Actor)...
Here are some of the pictures that I took from the show.

Sylvester Stallone: The Electric Burst of Creativity
I didn't know when Sylvester Stallone became an Artist...
Seems like he was there at the opening night on the 2nd.
Two of them were already sold when I saw his paintings.
Here is the article animalnewyork.com/2009/12/sylv… (His paintings were sold for $90,000 ...WOW!!)
This is one of my favorite pieces in the show.

"Interesting people"
I took the photos of these people because I saw some interesting relationships between them and the artwork and the perspectives it created.

Sounds like you had a great time. The photos you took were awesome! You look so cute in that first photo of you. I love the outfit & your hair! Also the one painting by Juan Genoves is my favorite outta all. It looks so cool! I can't believe Sylvestor Stallone is an artist as well. $90,000 for one on his paintings though... I could buy a decent house for that money lol.
