NPKs

I don’t see much art of these two, which is unfortunate because they aren’t exactly unimportant on the DK cast.

The characters I like the most are usually NPC’s, since they give character to the game. As for this, I started with just an image of Funky Kong, who is not only my favorite Kong but is probably responsible for how I learned how to draw big dudes early on---especially cool ones 83

I was that kid that would go to Funky’s map tile just to hear his theme song---specifically this one. The captains hat is a  reference to “Funky’s Flights” which was an air strip with a winged barrel that he’d loan to the Kongs so that they could visit cleared stages. 

As for Candy Kong, she was initially the only way you could save progress, her signature trait is having bigger tits than any one else. She’s here because I always hated her design; it’s bad enough that she’s practically a furry in a game full of talking quadrupedal animals, but the designers always sort of dropped the ball on her overall appearance…possibly because the playable characters were more important 8\
