He has no right eye, it was removed and sewn shut, his left eye is scarred and is going blind - he can still see but it will get worse over time. He is always sick, mellow, morose and out of touch with the real world. He can't help it - if you coughed up blood on an almost daily basis, had periods of time that you couldn't even gather strength to move from where you lay, and whatnot, you'd be detached too. He works at a hookah bar, but really he doesn't work, he just lounges around and abuses opium so he can't feel anything.
