Personality & Background:
Discord sensed a magical imbalance coming from Tartarus, and naturally informed the Princesses. They sent a few guards down to investigate, who never returned. Luna told Celestia she would check it out herself, but she refused and sent another group of guards down. They never returned. Luna insisted that she go down to Tartarus, and after much convincing Celestia let her go. To her surprise, she found the shriveled bodies of the guards, and a much stronger Tirek. As she stared at the bodies in horror, a blue flash shot towards her. She quickly flew out of harms way and noticed Tirek was firing at her. She hid behind a rock and avoiding the attacks, and casted a spell on him that would enter him motionless for a period of time. Once it was safe to come out, she asked Tirek how he’d become so powerful. He explained that he had learned to draw life from other living beings such as plants and the few animals such as bats that had traveled to Tartarus. The guards were an extra special treat. Luna talked to the dark centaur, and eventually broke through to him in some way, she believed. She frequently visited him to make sure he wasn’t planning on using the power he drew from plants for evil, but rather to sustain him and keep him alive. Over time she grew fond of him, and continued to visit him in secret even after the check-ups were no longer needed.

It was during one of these secret meetings that Aeterna was conceived. When Luna was pregnant with Aeterna, she kept it well hidden. No one knew until she gave birth, but most ponies had their suspicions. Once anypony saw the child, it wasn't hard to distinguish his father. Celestia was shocked and somewhat disgusted, and Luna explained to her just how much he had changed. Celestia was convinced that the child was only apart of some evil plot that Tirek was planning. She decided to banish him somewhere farther than Tartarus, someplace that it would be a guarantee that he wouldn’t hurt anypony. The moon.

Luna was horrified. She begged Celestia to reconsider, but the stubborn Princess had already set her mind. On the night before the banishing was supposed to take place, she snuck into Tartarus and helped Tirek escape. She told him to leave Equestria, and get as far away from the country as he possibly could. It was heart breaking for both of them. Before Tirek could even see his soon, he left Equestria forever. Luna never found out where he traveled to, and she fears that he was killed during his journey to wherever his destination was. Little Aeterna never met his father, and Luna was forced to raise the child alone.

Celestia assisted in the upbringing of the child, and she eventually grew quite fond of the little foal. As Aeterna grew older, he began to notice how other ponies looked at him. The realization hit him like a train: he was... different. And everypony knew it. Though none of the citizens or children at school or even the staff at the castle said anything, he knew that they treated him differently. If he wasn’t mistaken, they were... afraid of him. He oftened wondered why. He spent many nights lying awake and staring into the mirror wondering why. Then one day, he heard them whispering. His hearing happened to be better than the average pony, as he had two sets of ears. But on this day, he heard a cook whisper to a guard, “If you ask me, Princess Luna should find herself a stallion and quick. I don’t want that, that.. thing to be the next heir to the moon.” Aeterna ran to his room and locked the door. He cried for nearly an hour. As he wiped his tears, he realized that there was absolutely nothing he could do to make ponies like him. He was destined to be shunned from his kind. He growled at his hooves. He decided that he would give them something to fear.

Sexuality: Bisexual

Relationships: Aeterna loves his mother dearly. He admires her; she’s his hero, his idol. He appreciates everything she’s done for him, and if anypony did anything to her he’d probably slaughter them right then. She’s one of the few people he actually trusts, and he tells her pretty much everything. He’s also fond of his Aunt Celestia and his younger cousin, Summer Equinox. She’s the closest thing that he has to a friend. He’s not very close to his Uncle Macintosh, and he secretly believes that he’s afraid of him too.

The rest of his cousins live in Sweet Apple Acres, and he doesn’t see them very often as his mom is usually very busy. Not to mention the distance and the time it would take to travel. However, he does tend to see them on an occasional holiday. They’re very outgoing, unlike him, who’s more reserved. He tends to be very awkward around them and tries to hang around Summer.
