Literature Text
Beautiful from a distance, I would have you
Stay far
Let no one close enough to see the way your eyes lift
When you smile
You straddle erosion and decay
balance on the edge of a landslide
But no one comes to throw nets over your latest tumble
Or snare your slip-stray rocks
And so you reform again,
A new pinnacle,
That much closer to the sea
Literature
lord of splintered poems, agasp
as it
was written, what
bitter new draught
brews i? what
good is passed time
unwrapped? what
casket justifies
the theft:
glitter,
deeply unsatisfied
by hollow words,
trapped in gaudy
prose?
perhaps
all the rows
have to stay
past.

Your chapel
I did all
the things
a Mother
should do
I listened
and walked
the path
of patience
and
understanding
I faced
my fears
against
all odds
while stretching
myself thin
for the sake
of my child
and I would
do it
all over
again
But one
thing
I can't do
again
is pretend
to be
someone
I am not
within
your chapel
A chapel
that never
accepted me
for who
I was
in the first
place
---
You can
take away
what
you don't
understand
but don't
presume
to think
I will be
forgotten

Allergy Season
Spring has arrived,
The days are getting longer and warmer,
The flowers will soon be blooming.
However, while spring is in the air,
So is the pollen,
Leading to many people spending the next month or so sneezing and coughing.
I don’t know if I have a pollen allergy,
But I did get diagnosed with an allergy to dandelions when I was young
And I do find myself needing to frequently blow my nose
Around this time of year,
So maybe I am one of those people.
Funny how we go from cold and flu season,
To allergy season.
It’s always something health-related, isn’t it?
Some people just can’t catch a break
When it comes to being able to breathe easily.
I certainly know that feeling.
