Description
Part of my re-imagining of "Rose Petal Place" characters.
If things were getting all too cutesy & safe, here are the villains to add some edge.
In the original series there were only 2 villains, Nastina the Spider and Horace the Horse Fly (who looks more like a frog-faced Edward G. Robinson caricature), and there reasons for hating flowers was because they wanted the Rose Petal garden be nothing but a baron wasteland of dry brown grass, weeds, and spiderwebs everywhere.
My revision of Nastina doesn't hate flowers, she wants to steal anything Rose & friends have that keeps their gardens alive, she'll even try to manipulate and/or kidnap any of the floral nymphs to grow any planet, crop, and flower in her crummy place deep in the woods with an old abandoned tool shack.
Why? Flowers and plant life draw in insects, and it's a fact that spiders eat insects. Usually spiders are great to have in gardens because they'll eat pests, however Nastina doesn't want to eat just the pest bugs, she wants to eat all of them, and it's pretty dark considering that insects in "Rose Petal Place" are anthropomorphic creatures like the flower nymphs.
Horace the Horse Fly is still present, but this time he's not working with Nastina alone, he's part of a brood made of other bad insects called The Pest Patrol: Lima (tick), Malaria (mosquito), Kabu (Japanese beetle), Itchy (flea), Evian (aphid), Reek (stink bug), Dart (parasitic wasp), and Squish (cockroach).
Each of them has either a limb or two missing, or their wings were bitten, because those are the punishments they received for failing their orders from Nastina....
(I'm sorry if Nastina's web isn't showing up every well)
Nastina Spider and Horace Horse Fly belong to Kenner
The Pest Patrol designed by me
Drawing, coloring, and ink also done by me.
She pulls limbs off her subordinates if they fail her? Wow, that is excessive.
