Woah, human sized stuff! 
A commission I finished this weekend for a friend of Captain Harlock's "alternate costume" (so to speak), from Space Pirate Captain Harlock. He just wanted me to make the coat whilst he does the rest.
I love making coats. I love tailoring, so even though it's a cosplay, I've made it in the same manner I'd make a coat one would wear more often. Helps with making the costume last too, so he can wear it more than once.
The coat is made from black gabardine, lined in maroon satin, and bound in 6+ metres of self made satin bias (I used the wrong side so that it would look nice and matte). The skull and crossbones was cut out of cotton drill, interfaced, then appliqued in place.
