  History:

Kaziem was born into the Nguvu pride alongside his younger twin, Khatri. Their parents, Ilisha, a skilled huntress, and Kamanzi, a formidable warrior, married out of duty for their families’ sake, not love. Their union was short-lived, leaving Ilisha bitter and self-absorbed. In public, she paraded her cubs as symbols of her excellence, but at home, she was cold and demanding, setting impossibly high expectations and dismissing their emotional needs. She drilled into them the belief that strength was everything. “The world belongs to the strong," she’d say, over and over. “Not to the weak. You’re either strong, or you’re nothing.”

As the older twin, Kaziem felt the weight of her expectations a little more than his brother. Pushed to outshine Khatri, he became fiercely competitive, believing dominance and success were the only ways to earn approval. Meanwhile, their father, Kamanzi, was distant and indifferent, offering no validation despite their efforts to impress him. He would visit often, but when the cubs were let under his guard so that their mother could take time for herself, the lion would quickly grow impatient and cut their time together short, leaving them with the cubsitters before waiting for his ex-mate to return. He would find no pride in those boys despite their attempts to hold his attention, they hardly looked like him much anyway - sometimes, he even doubted they were his, such was the angst that ruptured his marriage with heated discussions that never ended well.

Desperate to prove himself, Kaziem embraced his mother’s harsh teachings, suppressing vulnerability and prioritizing strength above all. His drive to excel made him a force to be reckoned with but strained his relationships and left him emotionally closed off. He believes he has to be strong at all costs, even if it means stepping on others, or feeding on their insecurities to boost his ego.
