Blue-fire Hellhound Knox was originally born as a star for Orian but often wandered too far off and so the star was changed into a hound and given to Artemis as a hunting companion. Orion prayed to grant favor with the Goddess he adored with Knox. Hunting is often seen as a masculine pursuit, and in the ancient world, it was most often the job of men. The Greeks, however, made an exception to this assumption, at least when the hunter involved was a goddess. With her signature bow and faithful hunting dogs, Artemis ruled over the wilderness.
