Here's an interesting link tree type of report system:

I'm confused. I guess I'll ask.
We cannot depict violence at all in our art, correct?
Seems like a cop out compared to art, entertainment, and life. And reading DA's rules, it seems that only the worst material is to be avoided.
Yes, I've seen a few things that offend me. But compared to what I do or intend to, mine would be pretty mild.
Good question!
Well, you can depict violence in your deviations but there has to be a filter or a warning over it. Depending on the severity of the image you can adjust the age restrictions or put the deviations behind a pay wall. The common courtesy of "Viewer Discretion Advised" goes a long way!
However, in one current case we are working on the individual has depictions of ACTUAL deaths from the deep web that do not have filters, are placed PURPOSELY for shock value, are open to be searched by children, and easily accessible to said children to the point it may be traumatic for some individuals. That's where etiquette is violated.
Ahhh. There's still so much subjectivity (except the example you gave which is completely tasteless, unnecessary, and way over the top) so I will give you an example.
My protagonist shoots someone in the head. It's not an "execution" style shot at point blank range. The entry wound is depicted but rather than what would happen to the back the head, the camera cuts away and everyone seems shocked, but the gore isn't depicted. I hesitate to show even the splatter. The bad guy is dead, we move on.
This is prime time TV stuff nowadays. I watched a criminal shoot himself through the lower jaw. The camera cut away, but it showed the aftermath, although it wasn't as bad as I've seen, there was plenty of "blood". This wasn't prime time, but many children stay up well after 9 pm on weeknights.
The work I'm doing now is about to go into a darker twist. The show it was based on was 13 plus to me, but they've edited to re-runs pretty hard.
Thanks for taking the time to answer me.
Likewise for myself!"Rose of Sharon" does have a lot of elements that would class the comic as geared for the "Young Adult" audience or 18+ due to violence, language and sexual situations. Alas, it all boils down to who the audience is.
If you're advertising something that is for obviously for adults and only made for adults to understand to children who don't have the emotional, mental and many cases spiritual maturity to tackle the situations in a mature manner... then something is wrong with you.
