Decisions, decisions..December the 31st - end of a year. Oddly enough 1st of January, the first day of a new year, lands in the middle of winter. Looks to me like someone just randomly picked a day. It would be much more logical to start the year in March, when the Earth awakens. But that's the thing. May may (pun intended)not be the same for me and someone on the southern hemisphere. I would like to share.This summer was presumably the worst summer of my current existence. I have lost a human being very dear to me. Consequently I had been made more aware of my own mortality and that shook me to my core (which was until then guarded by a thick layer of chocolate fudge, flowery fields and kittens). A reminder that we all in fact have an expiration date made me look more closely at those around me who were still doing the whole delivering-the-oxygen-to-the-body-and-removing-carbon-dioxide thing.
