Hello! Here is the official opening of the cameo opportunity for my main comic, Kingdom Come! This is your chance to have one of your OCs to be a background character from one of my four Kingdoms of Winged Cats!
First, please read the Information Section!
- You are not so much submitting a character as you are submitting a design. And as such, your OC may have a real neat backstory/personality, but what I'm actually looking for is how they look. Elements outside of overall look will not be factored in to the 'judging' process, if you will.
- This is not first-come-first-serve. I'll pick OCs to be filler characters based solely on if I like the design or not
- With that, truthfully, as long as your design isn't, well to put it bluntly- super bad or too close to a design I already have (i.e. if your design looks too close to one of my own characters), then you will be picked. Other than that, there is a good chance that your OC will be chosen barring those two instances. Again, I'll choose designs based solely on whether I like them or not.
- While this opportunity may be only for winged cats (i.e. not Clan cats/non-winged cats), your OC does not have to have wings to be accepted. You can either describe how they would look with wings/what design/color they would be, or you can leave that up to me.
- You have a higher chance of getting accepted if
- Your design is unique
- Your ref sheet is easy to read and the colors are clear
- If your OC is accepted by me to have a cameo, I will assign them to a specific Kingdom of mine based on their design. You will most likely have no say in this (which I figure is okay, considering you're more submitting a design than a character). However, if there are too many of one single Kingdom, there is a chance I might tweak your design slightly to make them better fit in to a certain Kingdom based on these conventions.
- As stated a few times now, since you are submitting a design and not necessarily a character, your OC's personality/backstory/etc. will not be factored into the comic itself. So if your OC is accepted and they do something against their personality in the story, you'll just have to deal with that. Also in that vein, if your OC has any ridiculous accessories that don't fit with any of the Kingdoms' regalia, they will most likely not be included when they make their cameo appearance.
- You CAN submit multiple OCs!
- Of course, on the page(s) your character appears, I will 100% give you credit
So yes! The main reason I'm doing a cameo opportunity and not a contest is because I 1) realized I need background Kingdom cats much sooner than I anticipated, and not only that but 2) I need a LOT of them. As seen in the Cloud Kingdom Ref sheet, the Kingdoms are huge and it's important to me to portray that well. And if I tried to come up with unique designs for each and every cat in the eventual huge crowd scenes that we're going to get into (especially around Chapter 7), I would literally go insane. So I need your guys' help!

- Include in this comment (if it's not on the ref sheet), if they don't have wings already, what you would like them to look like. Or, as said above, you can also leave this up to me, but please state that if so. If you describe in words what you want your OCs wings to look like, please keep it brief and not too complicated. I'll assume if you say nothing about wings that you are leaving it up to me.
- And finally, also in your submission comment, tell me your favorite character so far in Kingdom Come, just to let me know you've read ALL the rules! If I don't see this, your submission will not be accepted!
- If I like it, you have a cameo in the comic, it's that simple!
- Though I said it's not first-come-first-serve, if you do get your ref sheet in faster, your OC will appear in the comic faster, as I do need just a few in some scenes coming up in Chapter 4.
At the moment I don't have a closing date for this cameo opportunity! Like I said, I want a LOT of background characters! So I'm planning to leave this open until those huge crowd scenes I mentioned above are happening! That gives you ample time to make new refs, spruce up old ones, and to enjoy this opportunity!
