In the Derverse the novel's setting the Ukrainian Crisis did happen, but this current Invasion didn't. Putin instead made an alliance with Xia of China and they let anyone in leading to 2/3rds of the world's nations in the alliance called the Eastern Coalition or EC. Which the EC started WW3 by having its members invade their neighbors they've had a grudge on while Russia and China gained space supremacy in the Northern hemisphere and launched Space invasions of pretty much all NATO counties...

Not given the allies any chance of military buildup or in the US's case enough time to pull its troops back from overseas. Or in the EU's case building up its military at all.... All this led to Eastern Europe exempt Poland, But also Germany, England and Wales falling to the EC do to not having that strong of a military when EC started blowing up Satellites and landing forces though out their territories, And western North/Central America fell to the EC's wet navy by day 5 of the war and would be the farthest they got in the war... Which WW3 in the Derverse only lasted a year and wasn't that costly at all especly compared to the first 2 world wars...

But the EC had invisibility tech to hide it's built up and the EC at that point was more like the EU or even the Soviet Union then what Russia and China are doing now. And they had AI robots to bolster their numbers.

Which I am writing the novel that shows WW3 from leader of the Hero faction's perspective and only on day 7 of the war right now. So the lore of the Derverse's version of these events is still being worked on.

So overall IRL is looking like a much better outcome then even the positive Derverse as Putin choosing to invade Ukraine on his on and still somehow unprepared is looking to be his downfall. All the while getting the people of the world to actually care about defense and the plight of others is nice without having to enter WW3 unlike the novel.

Oh and the Novel's been doing as expected it's makes 1 sell every 2-3 months don't know how the digital version does. But the other content(Pixelart, games, videos) I've been getting out of it's been great!
