AVE X RPG - Party Lineup

Madalyn - Alton - Eva - Luciano - Kleo - Mahana - Riko - Griselda
AVE X RPG is a bit of a shoddy name but it's a placeholder for now.  

I've been chipping away at my Masters this year and I decided to work on a whole new game design project!  Like Striker Zebra, the general idea was to make up a game concept.  This has been the most ambitious one so far thanks to how much bird-related research I've done to make these party members!  While I only have so much to say, here's some descriptions I posted from Tumblr that identifies them.  (BUT, with vague personality paragraphs I've written specifically for this deviantart post!)

Mahana, Kakapo
She/Her, wears a pari matched with a piupiu skirt, shoulders are covered with a green scarf.
...The eldest of the group, also perhaps the most immature.  Mahana is a pioneer of fruit-based magic, where she was well-revered for using berries in telling the future.  She's a nice parrot, but tends to get particularly sidetracked by other luxuries and more self-sufficient distractions.  She gets along rather well with Luciano, where they both share a similar sense of humour and tend to goof off.  While she'd like to get along better with Griselda thanks to their shared fascination with 'vulture culture', they got off on the wrong foot when they first met, so things are still rather awkward.

Griselda, Bearded Vulture
She/Her, wears a leather tunic with white feathers/fur around the collar trim.  it's bloodied and covered with grime.  wears numerous bone adornments such as a skull on the shoulders and smaller bones in the feathers.
...An actual beast of a woman.  Griselda is rude, coarse, and generally just too much for one bird to deal with.  There's definitely some good in her, but there's a lot of grime and complex feelings to dig through to get to that golden heart of hers.  Most of the time, she answers to Madalyn.  Initially it felt more out of necessity thanks to Madalyn being the leader of the group, but the former wants to better connect with her in a less 'professional' sense.  Another member of the party she just barely gets along with is Riko, who managed to muster up some courage to speak with her despite her intimidating features (and personality.)

Kleo, Stygian Owl
He/Him, wears a dark brown poncho with purple patterns resembling eyes.  features a lighter purple trim and collar with chicken-scratch patterns and circles.  wears metal claws.
...He's one of the quietest figures in the group.  Hailing from a gloomy forest, he was initially an assassin who found his way into the group thanks to some awkward convincing and shared goals with Alton.  Poor Kleo isn't used to this much company and tends to trip over his words a lot.  Previously, he wanted to be seen as an intimidating individual, but is struggling with conflicted feelings about how a frightening presentation might affect him.  Alton is the one other ave he feels like he can better confide with, where the both of them consider themselves the more 'mature' members of the group.  When comparing him to Luciano, he's a bit of a wet blanket.

Riko, Rock Ptarimgan
They/Them, wears a brown coat with a cotton trim on the hood and sleeves.  
...Riko woke to find themselves in an old village shrouded in snow.  Without the memory of her life, they decided to follow Madalyn's group to better explore the world with the comfort of aves also trekking the world to achieve their personal goals.  They're emotionally distant and are still working in to fill the botches of their memory, but attempt to approach everyone equally, putting their anxieties aside.  Mahana has especially been helpful to Riko, being something akin to a teacher figure, helping them arm themselves while being quick to provide assistance when needed.  Quite literally the grandmother Riko never had.  They also admire Eva immensely for how confidently she presents herself, wishing that they could do the same.

Evaline, Sebright Chicken
She/Her, wears a Russian-style orange court dress with an orange collar adornment.
...Hailing from Drusensire, Eva is a stern hen with a heart of frightening ambition.  Formerly a chick left on the streets, she quickly rose to nobility after working day and night to brush shoulders with the higher class game that would willingly take her under their wing as a partner in trading.  Now with an unusual gift of lost magic, she travels with the group to unravel it's history.  She tends to bicker with Madalyn especially, but is at the very least one of the few aves that can actually ground the unstoppable corvid.  The two care for eachother a lot, but have odd ways of showing that.  Alton is also something along the lines of a brother to her as well, where the two recognize their similar backgrounds and find comfort in exchanging that history together.  The very little sense of humour the two have are best seen when they banter with one another as well.

Luciano, Sun Conure
He/Him, wears a green performers coat with bell attached to the tail.  matched with a red pierrot collar, yellow shirt and red bottoms.
...One day, he sort of just invited himself in?  Luciano is unpredictable, but honestly?  Everyone would be worse off without him.  Even though he proves to be a handful, he makes the most effort to put his 'clownery' to usual use.  But most importantly, he's the ave with the biggest heart among them, always making an effort to spread a bit of cheer or well-needed motivation.  Although Griselda is a bit rough around the edges, she appreciates a good laugh from him, and the two managed to find an odd friendship in eachother before she joined the group.  Alton on the other hand is often bothered by his unwavering optimism and inappropriate clownery.  He still cares about the goofy parrot, but would care more if he was less of a pain in the arse.

Alton, Birmingham Roller Pigeon
He/him, wears silver armour with tear plumes on the helmet.  breast plate is adorned with a bird-like crest.  wears matching silver greaves on his feet.
...If you looked up the meaning for a 'stick up the arse', Alton is there.  Front page.  Alton is a soldier who ended up defecting thanks to some irritating pushing from Madalyn.  After he found himself attempting to pursue her 'wanted' status, he ended up joining forces with her when the two of them uncovered a greater misdoing in their city.  He's grouchy and hot-headed, but that's also what makes him fun to be around, sometimes he can offer some well-needed yelling to get everyone into gear.  He learned to soften up a bit around Riko, who didn't cope too well with his intimidating guise.  

Madalyn - Eurasian Magpie
She/Her, wears a white blouse with a dark blue sash and black bottoms.
...Once she was a postbird who loved to study history and anthropology through the little trinkets she'd uncovered on the job, but was one day torn from it after a failed delivery to the emperor.  What started as an escape route eventually turned into a crawl across the world, to finding out things that she would have been better off never knowing.  She's a bit of a con artist, able to use a silver tongue to get what she wants, or to trick other poor aves into helping her in her escape cause.  She's still the glue that keeps everyone together though, where she acknowledges the goals of her team members and wants to help achieve them... as long as it helps contribute to her own, of course.  She does nothing but bully Alton, but the two of them ultimately became better teammates after learning to trust and understand one-another better.
