Broken Child- Prologue
This story begins with a little girl.
This little girl knew she could do anything and wanted to do everything. She held the world in the tiny palms of her tiny hands and never let any opportunity slip through the cracks. Now, she was sure that she had everything her way, and that everything was how she wanted it, but then, something terrible happened. Something so terrible, she never even wanted to tell anyone about what had happened to her.
Now, you’re probably wanting to know what happened to her. Unfortunately, right now, I can’t tell you that. If you want to know what happens to her, you will have to read on. For now, howev...

Far From Home- BVB Part 7: Welcome to Wonderland
With no way up, I decided to examine my surroundings.
I was standing on a glossy, checkerboard style floor with deep red and bright white tiles. Several abstract paintings hung up on the walls alongside velvet curtains and old fashioned lamps. There were several nightstands at different intervals, each holding different items. Several doors in different shapes and sizes seemed to be the only way for me to exit, but which one was the right one?
I turned to the center of the room, where a seemingly normal kitchen table stood. The top of it was glass, and its brass legs curled under it, keeping it steady.
I remembered how this...

Far From Home- BVB Part 6
I had no idea how much time had passed.
All I knew was that it was around dusk, with the way the sky through my window was turning a warm orange with tinges of pink and red.
I shifted to find myself covered in a warm blanket, but this time, without a pillow. Instead of that, I had been using my hand to cradle my aching head as I sobbed a river on the floor.
I was no longer crying, and I could no longer feel anything. I felt numb, like when you sit on your leg awkwardly for too long and it falls asleep on you. Not wanting to move, I closed my eyes and tried to drift off to sleep.
Next thing I knew, it felt like I was fal...

Far From Home- BVB Part 4
Just like before, I ran.
The only differences were that it was during the day, it was sunny and seasonably warm out, and the fact that i was in a crowded mall with possibly hundreds of people.
As I shoved my way through large crowds and small lines of people, the voices in my head got louder. You see, in your perspective, everyone around you looks normal, right?
That's not how I saw it.
Everyone around me was wearing Victorian, steampunk style clothing with some wearing powdered wigs and ridiculous amounts of makeup. Instead of selling hair straighteners and cell phone cases, some were showing off cool looking goggles...

Far From Home- BVB Part 3
I stepped outside into the warm May afternoon, quickly locking the door behind me as the voice echoed inside my head.
Andy looked up from his cigarette and gave me a concerned look. He threw it onto the ground as he slowly exhaled, the secondhand smoke getting carried away in the wind. "You alright?" he asked me as I walked to the passenger side.
I was silent for just a moment before mumbling, "I will be," and sliding into the car. He followed suit, and soon enough, he had the key in the ignition and the engine was jumping to life. He pulled out of the driveway slowly and then glanced at me as he put the car in drive.
"Are...

Far From Home- BVB Part 2
I ran. I ran for what seemed like seconds, minutes, hours. The rain continued to pour down onto the ground beneath me as lightning lit up the heavens above. The thunder sounded far off, and with each loud, echoing clap, the booms seemed to drift even further. The only sound I could hear clearly were the sounds of my feet slapping against the concrete as I chased the rabbit to see where it would lead me. I slowly became surprised as I realized that, even though I had ran for what felt like a mile or two, I still had enough breath in me to run a thousand more. As I crossed avenues and boulevards, I came close to being hit by a car...

Far From Home- Part 1
I looked out the window and watched the green hills seemingly fly by the bus's window. We had just gotten done with The Black Mass tour, and we were on our way back to L.A to rest for a while before Warped Tour later this summer. My things were already packed and were waiting patiently next to me while Five Finger Death Punch poured into my ears.
Another day in this carnival of souls/Another night settles in as quickly as it goes/The memories of shadows, ink on the page/And I can't seem to find my way home
We got into city limits and soon paused to wait for a red light to turn green. There was still nothing interesting to do,...
