Description
DOOM, Wolfenstein, Metal Gear, you name it. Are the backbones of the current video games we have today, not only is it to have fun but also deliver messages to the players as they play through the games they play. There can be a game that depicts the horrifying conditions of war, or how real life relationships work, questioning someone's and your own existence, and the World we live in - the imagination of video games are limitless. In this timeline of Hell's invasion of Earth? It's no different.

The Oil Spill of 2014.
George HW Bush's move into North Africa was a dear success that resulted in the liberation of the former Old World 18 years ago. A-FOR administrators established local GDI governments in North Africa and the Balkans. Acting as Commonwealths with limited access or authority to the Council's combined military force present within their designated territories. When the Coalition explored the former barren wasted-land, oil was founded in Arabia, then it became a very needed resource for the Arabian and European governments.
As oil is often more consumed than it was in the last 60 years. The United States, Russia and the UAR are the three largest oil producers in the entire Globe. Nations compete first to grab a substantial amount of oil barrels in trade deals, the UAR grabs this global issue to profit themselves, oil drills were quickly constructed which means the equipment are less stable and reliable, despite it's very risks. In the turn of the 2010s, the United Arab Republic's economy was growing week by week thanks to these oil drills. However experts have already warned the government of Riyadh regarding their treatment of foreign workers and of course - the unreliable oil drills.
This warning flew over their head as an accident happened in a Kuwaiti oil drill, actually not one but several of them malfunctioned and the actual causes to these are still unanswered or obscured. This sudden situation caused the Arabian government to shut down trade concerning oil distributions due to the colossal disaster, leading to an oil crisis in the Middle East, as gas stations within the UAR, Iran, Turkey and even European nations hit rock bottom. Tensions were high between their own neighbors as civil unrest continues to grow amidst in this crisis. The GDI attempted to assist and cool the situation through series of resource distribution with American and Russian oil, this did not help the political situation but atleast it relieved the population's problem regarding oil prices. To make matters worse, the UAR government covers up of what happened in Kuwait and deny any accusations given by the North Atlantic Council, fabricating stories and proof to keep Turkey or the GDI at bay. Though in the age of information and the Internet being the face of the current generation, lies told by Arabia were debunked immediately and the stories of coverups leaked everywhere - even within the UAR.
This controversy generated a sequence of new movements within Arabia. Particularly giving more valid excuses for an extremist leftist/rightist to be established legitimately in Riyadh. However democratic organizations are the face of the Arabian dissidents within the UAR, an authoritarian "democratic" theocracy must be toppled, they say, that's what the rest of the World hoped - but they did not hoped for such a human war.
The 2nd Indo-Pakistani War.
Pakistan became an independent nation in 1964. Standing as a theocratic republic that neighbors India, both countries already had an heated relationship since the day Pakistan seceded from India. They hold a grudge due to their ideologies, India is a secularist democratic state while Pakistan condemns them as being "a Godless, Devil country" and a society based on themselves only, given the Indian Army's actions done during Bangladesh's and Burma's period under India. In 2015 following the disastrous oil spill and a crisis that came after, Pakistani and Indian soldiers had a misunderstanding and brawled on the Kashmir region, eventually that would later lead to a gunfight that resulted in more than 1,300 casualties on both sides.
This was unacceptable to both sides, given the relationship between the two, they were already preparing to invade each other - although the Indian Army crossed first to take advantage over Kashmir's skies and a pre-emptive strike against Pakistan. The first three days of hard combat between India and Pakistan caught the attention of the North Atlantic Council and the entire World, two nuclear powers tussling at each other which could lead to a potential nuclear devastation in the subcontinent. China tries to keep the two to a ceasefire and compromise but no peace is in sight, all they could do is to embrace the impact or wait for a miracle, international condemnations occur on both nations. The war became even more critical by the time the 4th day hits, which Turkey joins on the fight and invaded the UAR - a member of the "God's Alliance", Iran hops in as well.
Indo-Pakistani War escalates to the "2nd Great War."
a century ago, a "Great War" was proclaimed amidst the battles happening in the Western and Eastern fronts. It was not until the Christmas Eve that ended a distrust between human civilizations, but a greater coming of this enemy came that stopped a war between brothers and sisters.
...
in 2015, the Turkish armored cavalry breached the UAR-Turkey border as the skies of Kurdistan and Syria falls under the control of the Turkish Air Force. With reported casualties estimating to 40,000 in less than 24 hours of the invasion, most within the Internet have called this as the "2nd Great War", a shameless war between brothers and sisters. Disorder within the Middle East rises as government authority collapses, leading to a greater possibility of a nuclear devastation, GDI peacekeepers are dispatched to keep the regions stable and reform fallen lands into Coalition-held Havens. The presence of American-led Coalition troops may have kept many civilians hopeful despite the situation, but their presence did not politically help the situation at all, instead they were killed in a line of fire - having equal engagements between UAR and Turkish forces.
President Obama's visit to war-torn Baghdad caused a short ceasefire, but even as he left fighting continued and dozens of hundreds of more people are dying everyday. Knowing this war were powered by political reasonings, the GDI plans to overthrow them through a series of sponsored military coup d'etats or a revolution. The case first happened in the UAR, extremist and moderate rebels took over Dubai as the CIA and the FSB continuously deploy several additional agents or weaponry to the combat zone, generating an effective rebellion that can topple a fractured government in less than 2 months.
the War happening between Pakistan and India were wildly unpopular, as if the implementation of conscription is enough for a revolution to happen in these two countries. But another significant problem happens in Europe, again.
French Ultranationalism and the Franco-German Standoff.
the fiery irredentist causes were still in the hearts of many diehard French nationalists. Despite owning the regions of the former Belgium and has now owned the southern portions of the former Holland, they are still bickering over Alsace-Lorraine and the existence of a powerful German Empire. They weren't alone in their standoff, the rest of the EC joins in to maintain the already-stabilized trade affairs of all members, which means they have to face the United States and the German military together.
France is not a threat to be taken lightly, over the last 34 years. They produced dozens of hydrogen bombs and a few of warheads that can plunge Germany into a stateless chaotic mess. The U.S. and Russia has two effective options; repeat the Schlieffen Plan to shut down the French's nuclear plan had all demands aren't met or concede all demanded possessions to France, either way they are opening up a third option - less costly but a little more harder option, one may say it's better than both.
Current situation.
September 8th, 2015. Exactly 5 months into the 2nd Great War, a potential nuclear war may happen - soon.

I assume that the countries in the Mediterranean haven't really found a way to deal with the changed landscape.
Unless they decide to do canals then.
