This characters are from a story that I am writing, "Doors of Eridu".
In the Randae Valleys live the Lépodes, peaceful, rabbit-like beasts.
One night, the explorers found an abandoned wagon with a human child.
"What do we do with them?" They wondered. They had no good experiences with humans, they had only known the cruel side of humanity.
Some suggested returning them to their people, but the nearest town was beyond the mountains, far from the Savage Lands. It was dangerous.
Others suggested leaving them on the wagon, letting nature go it way.
They were going to do it, but one of the respected teachers spoke up.
"We cannot leave them at the mercy of predators. Didn't we learn anything from the Great Goddess Letia? If she had abandoned us, we would still be wild beasts. Perhaps human beings are not so damned.
Raising them among them was also a dangerous option. The other teachers questioned him.
"If something goes wrong, you shall be responsible."
"Yes"
It was therefore decided that child, whom they called Jun, would be raised with the kits.
