I'm okay with religion, as long as you don't take it too literally.
I can understand that religion can help people feel better about themselves, but when people take their religion too literally, and force others to convert, they end up causing more harm than good. Extremists taking their religion too literally has caused more problems than you can imagine.

Shoving faith down people's throats is bad but educating people about beliefs is fine 
In defense, I've met some Atheists trying to "convert" Christians into Evolution by insulting their intelligence.
Religion isn't supposed to make one feel better, it's something that gives their beliefs and morale code to stand on. Without solid ground (even in non-religious beliefs), a person will be confused. Religion gives meaning to a person's life. However, there are extremists just like there are fanbrats in every fandom. Just as you shouldn't judge a fandom by the brats, you shouldn't judge a religion by or extremists. If a religion means something to someone, like a character of a fandom would, one could not just take it lightly.
Just food for thought.
