Whatever Happened to Men?: Infirmary- Prologue
Prologue
Inside the tunnel, it was quiet, now empty. The doctors were all busy with their patients in the hospital above. During the epidemic, many died. And then something came. It came to the tunnel. Something that is not being seen, only you can hear footsteps with shoes tapping on the smooth and clean tunnel ground. Something invisible from what anybody would’ve faced if they listened to the sounds of footsteps. From there on, many different doctors come through the basement tunnels to head to another part of the hospital building. But no doctor ever knew something invisible was lurking by them.
The creature watches doctors going by and then finds the sick, homeless man outside the hospital. It feeds on illness, and that was where it started to invade the hospital, not being noticed by any healthier beings. However, the homeless man thought he saw and thought death took his soul away when it is only hungry for a human’s illnesses. It was no crime nor a disease that spread out

Whatever Happened to Men?: Infirmary- Part 1
Part 1
A big building, Huntington Hospital. Bright and soft as it looks, they made much progress. A doctor sits at his desk waiting for the next patient appointment. On his desk, his cards, and nametag, were all named Aldon Morris. Aldon knows all the routines of being in business.
On that day, his iPhone rings.
“Yes? This is Dr. Morris of Huntington Hospital; how can I help you?” He answered.
“Hey, Al.” A Younger man’s voice replied.
“Why, hello. Do you need an appointment?”
“Come on, Aldon. I’m okay; I want to hear your voice again.”
“Rough weekend?”
“No, just kind of lonely without you, and I think you need a break, and we could be in a hot tubbing spa or something.”
“What kind of doctor wouldn’t do those things, Johnny?” The Doctor said his name.
“Aldon, you are the healthiest man I’ve known, and you turn me on.”
“Well, I’m working.”
“I know, so if there was something to do, can I come over?”
“Well, do you need an appointment?”
“I can spend money on that.”

Later that evening, Aldon and Johnny were together in the hospital bed, as Aldon imagined this to happen. He rubbed his fingers on Johnny’s head as he rested his head over Aldon’s bare chest.
“Glad I came,” Johnny whispered.
“So am I.” He replied.
Johnny stretched his arms over, “Been a good day so far? Or slow?” He yawned.
“Oh… A little bit, but not much happened.” Aldon added.
“You’ve been a doctor about 12 or 13 years ago. And You kept this job well done.”
“Thanks, Johnny. I think about patients as much as I want to look after you, and I don’t want you to be sickened like others.”
“I think you do very well, looking after me as much as I want to care for you.”
Suddenly, a man’s scream was coming from the hallway. Johnny was startled when Aldon noticed but calmly suspected the patients were having night terrors. A few seconds later, the sobs and mumbles continued from the screaming man. Aldon wondered as much. Johnny curiously stepped out of bed and listened out of

From that day on, Aldon looked back at the Patient’s cause of death and the list of his stays. Johnny steps in and hunches over Aldon’s shoulder.
“Anything you can find?” Johnny sympathized.
“I tried this repeatedly, and nothing makes sense,” Aldon replied.
“I’m as confused as you are, but a personal question, was that footstep we heard going by, was something invisible?”
“What about it?”
“I was thinking ahead while we were in that private room, one of the other patients saws something going by, and somehow, she seemed frightened by it.”
“It?”
“Just think about it, Al.” Johnny continued. “When Fred screamed in possible night terrors, and then heard footsteps walking by, and then having other patients witnessing what scares them, I have never seen anything like that.”
“What’s your point, Johnny?”
“I know it sounds ridiculous, but what if we’re dealing with something? If this wasn’t a disease, it’s perhaps Death?”
“Death? Like a Grim Reaper that takes people’s life

Later that evening, Aldon was feeling a little sore throat. He did have a chat with Janet while she was profoundly sick with a fever. Aldon knows he can get a sickness from somebody else occasionally. He is healthy and tries to do the job, ill or not. His Partner, Johnny, has looked after him since his sore throat, and Johnny believes he must have caught his cold. Of course, Aldon was slightly feverish and asked Johnny for a ride to the hospital.
When he was dropped off, he was in his usual suit but with a tired face and sweat flowing down his sides. He was afraid he’d faint with the A/C cooler in the Lobby, and what if other doctors tried to send him home if he was not feeling well?
At least nothing has happened so far; he just went into his office and sniffed in his nose. He had several appointment calls and wanted to stay at work for hours. He planned to stay near Janet Woodworth’s room and discover why much confusion about Fred’s death wasn’t solved precisely. Aldon

Momentarily, the security cameras caught the footage of Aldon and Janet getting out of the room; however, the thing that pulled Nikki out of the room, in the footage, shows no being pulling Nikki out of there, just Nikki’s body sliding out herself.
Other doctors and nurses quickly tried to discover what had happened to Nikki, while Aldon and Janet were the only witnesses who saw the invisible monster.
“Are you telling me you saw this scary-looking man attacking one of our nurses?” One of the leader’s doctors asked.
“That’s what I don’t understand; why was the footage only seeing her coming out on her own instead of Miss Woodworth, and I saw this man pulling her out?”
“From what it looked like was like a crazy fucking poltergeist.”
“This is Hell we’re on!” Another Doctor cuts in, “We’re in a paranormal activity!”
“Nikki’s body was pulled out; don’t you realize someone’s invisible?” The one nurse added.
All the doctors gathered had a lot to argue about. Only what was

Aldon went down to the lobby to get more coffee to drink when one of the doctors showed up, hoping to talk with Aldon.
“Dr. Morris?” This doctor standing tall and frowning, “What are you up to?”
“I just came down to drink some coffee,” Aldon replied.
“That’s not what I mean.” The Tall doctor shook his head.
“What do you want to know?”
“You have been working a lot with this incident, the ghost you and that patient faced. Not to mention you don’t look well.”
“I know you and others are concerned, but as a doctor, I need to clean things up before this ghost, you call it, strikes again.”
“Don’t you see, that bothers me; you’re risking this way too much.”
“Why? Because I’m a good doctor?”
“You’re a nutcase, old man.”
“Thanks for the compliment.” He sarcastically said and cleared his throat. “I understand how you feel, Felix, but you don’t need to help this much. I will stop this beast, whether it dies or not.”
“Aldon, you were a family to us.” He sniffed as he whipped

The trail of blood they followed led to the left side, and the right side had no tracks. They followed the blood while they were shaking in their bones. Anxious to face the beast again, only Johnny was his first time. They tip-toed through the tunnel when they suddenly heard a wheezing noise coming from further ahead of them. Aldon gripped his bottle of acid, ready to splat at it, when the other two followed behind him.
Aldon halted Johnny and Janet, “I’m going towards it, I’m going to fight this thing, and if I don’t make it out alive and if the acid doesn’t work, then you two should know what to do.”
“You’re not going alone, are you?” Johnny asked.
“We’re on the same team, right, Dr. Morris?” Janet also asked.
“We all are, do not hesitate; I’m going through whether it works. Be strong. And remember, the supplies you have got to try out. We’re in the same team, by die trying.” Aldon nodded and smiled.
“Wish us luck, love,” Johnny added.
“Wish me luck too.” Aldon
