Rise Evraen

Evraen, my beloved crow. You may be far from the ideal candidate for one to be called a true hero, having lived most of your life a thief and a crook. You hurt a lot of people, and we’re hurt by just as many. And through it all, life brought you down until you found yourself time and time again locked up and grounded. But there’s a heart of gold beating in that feeling chest of yours. The only think that’s ever kept it from shining and showing was fear. Fear in trusting others, fear of your safety, fear to try new solutions to your problems. Sometimes it takes courage courage to do the right thing, because the right thing doesn't always sound smart, or seem glorious.

But it’s not too late for you, or me, or anyone with regrets You’ll always be my icon that no matter what wrong or fault I’ve had of my own, even if you have to live with lasting consequences, as many real people do, you can still turn around and find the courage to really unlock the real treasures in your heart. And then gain the keys to more treasures in life—real treasures. You’ll help others find their own treasures too as their example and hero from the shadows.

And if someone like you, a thief, liar, crook, even once a murderer, can be a hero...then anyone can be a hero. What’s more, I can see you as a hero for some of the people who need a hero most—the ones in poverty, the ones in desperation, the ones with dirty hands, the ones who believe they’re irredeemable.
