Description
DGIM FX-05 Xiuhcóatl with the low speed 40 mm grenade launcher designed by the General Directorate of Military Industry (DGIM) of the Mexican Army, between 2013 and 2014.
This launcher uses HEDP or High Explosive Dual Purpose 40 × 46 mm caliber warhead grenades produced by the SEDENA. It is attached to the lower part of the Xiuhcóatl rifle, but cannot be used with the Carbine version of this weapon due to its length. The grenade launcher grip wraps around part of the rifle's translucent magazine and features a two-position safety. A Picattiny rail can be installed at the bottom to attach the front handle. On the left side of the rifle handle, it has a folding sight that is installed in one of the side anchors for the rifle's Picatinny rails and not directly on the grenade launcher
