full moon 3000

this started out as a random practice. I decided to spend a few hours more on detailing. glad I did ; -; this gives me new hope. It was really fun to try out new stuff, I loved to work on the skulls and the red background the most~

If you're interested in what's going on here:

Fabien, the wolfboy you can see in the picture, got cursed when he was 17 years old.
A long, long time ago he refused to take part in a tradition of his clan, which says the youngest members need to get their throat cut in order to spare the rest from turning into beasts - when drinking blood right from their throats.
This will cause the youngest turn into beasts and they are about to lose their good memory and the innocence they've had in their hearts until then.

As I said, Fabien refused and so did his best friend.
They ran away in a fullmoon night. but, naive how they were, they showed up a few days later again.

The eldest were so angry that they cursed both of them:
Fabien got his throat cut, but not entirely. his body doesn't know if he should turn into a beast or not. which means he's in constant pain.
His friend got killed in front of his eyes, only to get reincarnated as an animal.
They got abandoned out of town.

Fabien is now only awake when the full moon shines and as soon as these nights are over, he turns into stone.
His best friend stays with him all the time and he dies again and again in order to save Fabien's life - he gives him his energy.
Maybe he gets eaten by full moon, too, who knows?

after 3000 nights of a full moon, they're allowed to walk around freely and healthy for one month and have time to find a cure against the curse.
but when the time comes Fabien doesn't remember anything as he wakes up lonely. he gets lost and some young wolfmen pick him up and "adopt" him.
he has completely forgotten about the curse and he slowly begins to like his new life in the modern town.
so when his best friend finally stands in front of him and isn't an animal anymore Fabien doesn't recognize him at all. and Fabien doesn't believe anything this boy tells him either.

mmh, can there even be a happy end for the two of them?

my English is probably as spooky as this story, sorry~


ps: after the explanation, can you spot the best friend in the picture? I guess you can hahah.
