Description

This is one of my favorite pieces, done as a favor for a friend of mine in the publising industry (Cathy Buburuz, editor of Champaign Shivers). www.samsdotpublishing.com/cham… This photo won the James Baker Award for best photoillustration of that year. It was made using double printing (exposing a sheet of photosensitive paper to two different negatives in turn, first the torso photo and then a negative of a bed of ferns. Then I sepia-toned it and added some texture. It's all darkroom, no Photoshop.
