I said I'd try to add more Brigid the Moon Crone, but haven't put any into Stash so we'll see how short-lived this is. 😆
When I started this sculpture, I only knew that I wanted to make a humanoid form.
The face was small and hard to get done. Hands were a problem. The one I made with wire was better but a little too large. Also making hair was a challenge, so I took it off and went the multi media method and used wool yarn. She was challenging but I didn't let that stop me! All in all, it was an accomplishment.
Brigid the Moon Crone
Brigid is a crone who lives off a cliff in Ireland. Her tiny cottage and garden lies above a cave where she can practice her moon magic. She is a powerful witch of 117 years and all from near and far seek her out her wisdom and help.
Her familiar, a raven named Finn, is a second set of eyes for her, and is always near.
After some age, she has a blind right eye. Because her Magick is strong, she doesn't see this as a weakness. She carries a tall staff with a full moon on its top and wears a tiny moon necklace to show her love and respect. They both glow when she performs Magick.
Her deep Irish accent cracks a little when she speaks or cackles, lighting up her ancient face.
Brigid waits for All Hallows Eve,  to practice the most important moon spell: Longevity.
This Halloween will fall on a rare, red, full moon and will fill her with many abilities to do spells and heal within. With this main spell she can add about ten years to her life. Enough healing perhaps, to repair her eye. It's a  life she sometimes grows tired of living, but a life that means so much to her people. After all, what would her people do if a plague touched their small village?
No, this was a year to work with nature, not fight her gifts of Magick.
As the wind blows her long wild hair, her wispy dress stirs to the west, she picks mushrooms and herbs for spells to store in her shaman bag at her waist. Yes, this Halloween she would be needed more than ever.
She does not know it yet, but she will have to give her longevity spell to another of her village, to save their life. This will forfeit the moon spell on herself, thus leaving her more decrepit until the rare, red moon blooms again in the night sky.
