Literature Text

Now turn your face to solid steel,
Dismiss the sting that stems your tears,
And don the mask, now climb the stage
That's paved the pain through all your years.

They never saw you cry at night,
They've never seen the blood you grieve,
So now you keep from public eye
The shattered heart once on your sleeve.

What joy is there in getting hurt,
Flayed by the ghosts within your past?
So you can call me less than whole -
I'll die in peace behind my mask.
Yet another mask poem from the anals - i mean, annals - of my mind...enjoy.

The story is very moving and it's something that a lot of people can relate to. Your rhyming is so spot on.
