Description

President Haltmann: A man who may have always had (secret) delusions of grandeur about controlling the world…now, as a large portion of humanity depends on the Haltmann Works Co. for survival, those dreams have become reality. He has quickly adjusted to making decisions about human beings rather than empty numbers, but his uncompromising attitude hasn’t changed much…leading many of his new wards to find fault with his utilitarian policies. But their opinions hardly matter: as far as he’s concerned, they should all just be grateful.
[]
First time putting Haltmann in an AU! And he’s basically the same character as the canon. ^^; What can I say; the ‘evil CEO’ archetype just works. Besides, I need him this way: I think every contemporary superhero should have a sort of ‘establishment’ character to butt heads with occasionally, especially state-sponsored heroes like the SSS. Like, yeah, you’re protecting the innocent and saving the day…but look at who you work for. Look at who created you, and takes credit for your deeds~

Susie: As introduced before, a brilliant engineer and the leader/inventor of the SSS. As President Haltmann’s daughter, people tend to think of her as more influential than she is…the reality is that he sees her as just another employee, and the only aspect of this ‘new world order’ that she can actually control is her work. So she buries herself in it, trying to ignore the ongoing horrors, and hoping that her efforts will someday allow people to live freely again.
[]
This Susie is a bit of a complicated character. :9 I’d be lying if I said she wasn’t privileged-- if she decided she couldn’t go on anymore and quit her job, she probably wouldn’t be punished for it, unlike…well, see below. But knowing that (and knowing that everyone else knows that…) kind of makes it worse for her, and contributes to her workaholic attitude. After all, the only living family member of the dystopian overlord doesn’t have to suffer like everyone else; even if her father gets mad at her, she doesn’t really have to worry. She’ll always be safe…so, somehow, she has to prove she deserves it. Even if it means giving up her life…

Magolor: One of the HWC’s many ‘emergency volunteers’, who were promised that, in return for their work in helping to save humanity, their loved ones would eventually be allowed to seek asylum in the Green Zone. Unfortunately, ‘eventually’ ended up being too late for most of them, and more than a few of the volunteers are bitter about their ‘less useful’ family members being left to die. In this, Magolor is no exception.
And as Susie’s protégé and one of the original developers of the SSS project, he faces an unusual level of scrutiny-- essentially, he must either continue to work or be euthanized. This heavily informs his cold, indifferent personality.
[]
Let’s see, massive trauma, survivor’s guilt, literal slavery, an overwhelming amount of pressure and responsibility…and all on the shoulders of a 14-year-old kid. Ah yes, the Doki Special~
I think this is probably the most depressing version of Magolor I’ve ever done…the one from DreamAll’s ‘AU of an AU’ is a close contender, although at least his circumstances are more fantastical. This Magolor, on the other hand, is just a normal human being, working a job he hates just to be allowed to exist in a world that’s barely worth living in anymore. Forcing himself to go numb is probably the only thing stopping him from literally burning the whole city down…in short, he feels very real, almost a little too real. ^^;

I feel that with Haltman it could be a little different,since he knows that Susie is his daughter and it's implied in the games that he only became obsessive with profit after using the star dream many times in an attempt to find Susie,i feel like to make it different from the original he could be secretly see Susie as a "father's little princess" and the cold businessman exterior is a farce to motivate her to NOT go around in a giant robot and probably get herself killed ,you know, same thing on the surface ,but different in it's own way
