this weird piece was inspired by the movies "Porco Rosso" and "Ponyo" from Studio Ghibli. and heavily tainted by my obsession with Gundam. Im not going to go into how i arrived at this image, but i will tell you that it was a pretty strong mental image, which is how this came around so quickly. (i only saw Ponyo last friday, and the line-art was done by the end of the day). My muse is weird.

i dont really have much to say about the content, but i will say that this piece has been one of my biggest projects to date. It covers a double A4 spread, and has taken me several days to colour. i tried to use some new colouring methods on this, but it was taking so long i ended up slipping back into my old habits.

i'd like to think this is the only picture in the world of a Gundam being used like this, but i suspect not.
