Smurfette

So I finally got to wear this costume! I debuted it at Montreal Comic-Con 2011! It was sooo popular that I couldn't deal with so much attention, ahaha! I was interviewed four times, too. The kids were so cute though, when they saw mecon, especially this one boy who must have been about 5-6 years old and spoke to me as though I was her: "Hey, hey Smurfette! I saw Wolverine and he had sharp claws!!" So cute.

I was just as popular with the adults as well. The group of military men who were the escorts for the con's guests swarmed me for photos and it was hilarious. I am glad it is over now though. I don't think I will wear this again, but I might... just not at a comic-con holy shit XD

As for the costume details, I basically just made up the dress with no pattern, so I cannot explain that. I bonded the spots with satin material so it was obvious against the dress. The dress also had a wire at the hem to keep it sort of flared out. I added lace to the collar and the hat since it is Smurfette, who is girly, and that's a girly detail which I thought was fun to add. The hat was also sort of made-up and stuffed with pompoms. The shoes belong to my mother, the flowers were bought... and...

... that wig is actually from my Panty cosplay. I had another blonde wig but I kind of preferred this colour more. The body paint is a company called "Paradise" which is the best and smells amazing (coconut, hnnrg)
