Description
Probably the most intens, technical, and psychadelic piece I've ever done. I've never been one AT ALL for patterns and designs, I've always liked looking at other works with crazy cool patterns and designs, I've just never been good at them, and it never really captured me in a "I really want to do that!" way...And now that I'm being forced to do them thanks to my illustration class, I still don't want to do them. haha! I HATE IT! D8<
Pen and ink patterns are cool to look at and its awesome that I'm learning how to do them (theses skills are gonna come in super handy later) but I don't like doing them myself. They are a waist of time to me. When I draw something, I want to get it out as fast as possible, enjoy the proccess and result, and move on with my life. Guess that's the animator in me. If I go into detail I want it to be color and it not tedious pen and ink detail. Besides, I have a shaky hand.
I have one friend in particular that does BEAUTIFULLY detailed and surreal pen and ink work! I love it! But I just can't do that kind of junk, I'm impatient I guess. If there's one thing that this class has already tought me in 3 weeks, it's that I'm definatly an animator before an illustrator. Glad that pending question is answered. I'm much more reality based than I thought I was.
Dispite all of my complaining, I am really proud of this. Of course there are mess ups here and there, but what ever, it's a;ways going to happen. I was forced to create something in a way that I never would have on my own. It has opened my eyes to what more I am capable of, plus the fact that I hate it. x3 While at the same time I hate it, I find it fun. Ahaha! I'm crazy!!!
This is one of a BUNCH of different pen and ink drawings and pen tests I had to do for my first assignment a few weeks back. I'm going to upload one other part of it ad then leave it at that because the rest are pattern, pen, and paper tests...unless you guys WANT to see those.
Tools: RAPIDOGRAPH PENS (expensiv little bastards!)
